  1. That's all fun and well, but if you're Sven Kramer or Martin Fourcade or something, you're only here to win, and nothing else.
  2. That depends entirely on the athlete
  3. Kinda like Nigeria, Morocco, Ghana and so on you mean?
  4. Thanks to the way they decorated it, and thanks to the almost non-existent (or at least non-audible) cheering.
  5. Gangnam Style, there it is, the mother of all cliches
  6. The atmosphere is sooooo.....meh
  7. I hope they can keep up this speed.
  8. Akwasi That's the first Dutch athlete of today
  9. Alright, enough cultural things now, let's go Parade of Nations
  10. I still find it odd to have that many runs with non-competition sleds, just to 'hide'. I mean, personally I'd think getting as many runs as possible in at actual competition speed is more important than hiding yourself..
  11. Well then I do think there's a difference in quality, since the qualify here is basically the same as it's for Netflix or MLB.tv If there even is a difference, it's as good as invisible. Even the HD on my TV is not better than what the ES Player is showing here, which is as clear as I could imagine. Oh well, the main thing: it's dirt cheap, great quality and shows an absolute shitload of stuff, so no complaints here.
  12. And the next snowboard star, reigning halfpipe champion Iouri Podladtchikov is out after his fall in the X-Games. He says he's recovering alright, but starting now would bring the risk to never stand up anymore if he falls on his head again.. https://www.blick.ch/sport/olympia/schock-bei-snowboard-star-olympia-out-fuer-titelverteidiger-iouri-podladtchikov-id7958757.html Sad, but sensible choice it seems.
  13. Of course no medal is more realistic than a medal, but that downhill run does give one a bit of hope. Who knows, weird things happen in the combined and Zampa at least fighting for a top-6 or something would definitely not be the most weird thing ever
  14. Very decent downhill training by Zampa btw, might get interesting for the combined
  15. Dutch website where you can predict how many medals the Dutch athletes will win and then compare it with the 'experts' (former world class speed skaters Erben Wennemars and Mark Tuitert): http://app.nos.nl/os2018/#/onderdelen You think Tuitert is optimistic with 8 gold (+10 silver medals! and 3 bronze ones), but wait for Wennemars.....13 (!!) gold medals Please don't let that happen
  16. Much better suit for Von Appen today
  17. Awful results by the Germans yet again. Surely they're not using old sleds or something? How else would you test the track at competition speed?
  18. All 45 Russian appeals have been dismissed by CAS. http://www.tas-cas.org/fileadmin/user_upload/Media_Release_AHD9_DecisionOG18_02_03.pdf
  19. What the hell, 81 points for screwing up your routine..
  20. Switzerland ends with a 6-stone end
  21. Huge miss for the Americans..
  22. And down goes the Korean girl
