The year in sports brought a lot of joy and emotional moments to Totallympics members around the world. As we say goodbye to our annual awards, here's hope that 2024 can also be a memorable year for all sports fans, as we eagerly wait for the next Olympic Games. For now, we'll remember the moments that brought us together in 2023, presenting this edition's theme song: "Fight Song", by American singer and songwriter Rachel Platten.

As we reach the end of the competitive categories, it's time for the Totallympics Stars Award, which honor our own members. Voted by their peers, these users have had a strong presence in our forum this year. Here, they are nominated for a variety of reasons, such as: organization of prediction contests, TISC hosting duties, discussions or sports info in our forum, and contributions to all Olympics qualification threads. In Mexico you have 3 traditions, depending to which part of the country you live.
 
Central and Southern Mexico are more team “Reyes” so kids there expect to find their gifts on January 6th. Northern Mexico is team “Santa” in larger cities, but the rural areas also celebrate the Wise Men. And mi city, is the only ones where kids write a letter to Baby Jesus asking for gifts.

Not in my case, but my family does not do Santa either, just "Reyes Magos", which is basically the same thing but in January 6th. I do have some friends in Catalonia that celebrate the Tió though.
 
And in the Basque Country they also have their own version of Santa. It is called the Olentzero if you want to check it out.

I do enjoy a good Rosca de Reyes 
 
Some of my Latin American classmates would bring those to class on the 6th (or before, if we were still on winter break that date).

Let them compete instead of the US team or the Canadian team. Just as England/Scotland represent UK in a number of team sports. Let Haudenosaunee represent USA (or Canada) in Lacrosse. 

Exactly, treat you native people with dignity.

Well thank you @Olympian1010for posting the “finale”  I was convinced I will have time to post the votes during the car commute between destinations, it turned out I talked too much with our Thai driver and forgot the whole thing.

I was expecting a bit UK to win, the song is of course really good, I personally like it a lot but since my goal for this contest is to find new good music, I purposely choose not to give points to celebrities. Although in this case I like the song so much I couldn’t resist to give it at Leary 1 point 
 
I really liked all the other 11 songs I voted , especially Greece and Sweden, the last one was an immediate 12 from the moment I heard it, loved it!!!
 
As for Spain, I’m a huge fan of Mecano but I think the song chosen was not be best, if it would be Hijo de La Luna, Una rosa es una rosa, or Un año mas, I think it would have better chances
 

Thank you so much. As I said, this song was published only on special edition, with only 1500 copies sold, so not even many friends here in my country hardly know the song.

51 points and 26th place (If I counted correctly) tied with USA and Serbia.
 
No lies, I must admit this time I am a bit disappointed by this final result, since this song and artist has a huge place in my heart and is one of my very top fav local musicians I wished and hoped somehow for some success for her here, but apparently she did not touch so many ears and hearts outside of my room. Well, too bad for you
