  1. and finally the big bout has happened... and Jordan Burroughs won it by the minimum margin (6-5) thanks to a late comeback... Chamizo started on fire and quickly went 4-0 up (the 3rd and 4th point came thanks to one of his wonderful trademark counters after Burroughs grabbed Frank's leg and looked to be in control of the action)... then, when the American seemed to be in a lot of troubles, a stop to clean the mat was required...and after this couple of minutes break, JB started to find his rhythm and scored his first 2 points... at the beginning of the second round, Chamizo started once again better than Burroughs and got his 5th point, but then he clearly gassed out and let the American too many leg grabs, 2 of which led him to score and take the lead with less than a minute to go... Chamizo unfortunately didn't have much left in the tank and actually it was Burroughs to get closer to another couple of points than Frank getting a chance to score again... final notice...the bout was heavily influenced by a very slippery mat...both guys weren't able keep their feet steady enough and this was a pity (and honestly I think it was more a problem for Chamizo and his attempts to counter Burroughs leg grabs)... here you can see the full match for free (even if I don't know how long this video -clearly illegally recorded and shared- is going to stay on YT):
  2. Tonight's the night! in a few hours, the main events of the "Beat The Streets" Wrestling Fest in New York will be on stage... among those, an always interesting USA vs CUB freestyle team match (with a juicy Kyle Snyder vs Reineris Salas Perez in the -97kg class) and, above all, the big challenge: Jordan Burroughs vs Frank Chamizo Marquez (freestyle wrestling, -74kg class)... here are some notes: https://www.flowrestling.org/articles/6202369-tech-notes-jordan-burroughs-vs-frank-chamizo and here's tonight's full program: https://www.flowrestling.org/events/6143852-2018-beat-the-streets/schedule unfortunately, I only found this Flowrestling website's paid streaming to watch this event (and I'm not gonna give them 12+ dollars for a single exhibition show like this)... I hope tomorrow some free video will be uploaded here and there... p.s. I did notice that there is also some space for the currently suspended (for doping) Togrul Asgarov, which is a shame for such an amazing event...
  3. if things end up like they're standing right now, from tomorrow I'm gonna be watching only Cricket and Boccia for the rest of my life...
  4. is this a joke or what??? c'mon, man! you cannot be serious about that!
  5. don't worry, pal...I got CAN right, but I also had the Czechs winning by 1...
  6. I agree at 100% p.s. with this groups' lineup, Italy are really at risk of missing the qualification...meanwhile group F is a joke (with all respect for ARG and CAN...good for them, in any case)...
  7. Major League Baseball hits the (bad) news once again... Robinson Cano, star player of the Seattle Mariners, gets an 80-game suspension (half a season, the max punishment they can give him for this kind of infraction) for violating the PED (Performance Enhancing Drugs, aka Doping) policy of the MLB... https://www.mlb.com/news/robinson-cano-suspended-80-games/c-276822884

  9. why they have the 2 best quarterfinals (on paper, at least) at exactly the same time? why??? they should get back to the age when they had the quarterfinals over 2 days...
  10. I guess that sooner or later something wil be published here: http://www.panamwf.org/eventos/2018/05/campeonato-panamericano-de-mayores-2018.aspx/Evento-en and maybe there's a chance to find something also on the Dominican or Colombian weoghtlifting facebook/twitter accounts...
  11. well, Russia beating Sweden is not such a surprising result...it's always a theoretically close match that can go in either directions any given day...

  13. but we're not talking about regular" Kitesurfing...we're talking about another not yet existing enthusiasmating "mixed" competition... personally, I'm disgusted... shame on ISAF, Paris LOC, IOC and to all the people supporting this "gender equality" farce...
  14. Yesterday a new Pistol & Rifle Shooting World Cup stage came to an end... after the Asian trip, the tour flew to Fort Benning, Georgia, USA (the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Shooting Range)... and the final Medal Table didn't change their main "owner", since China dominated the field and won 4 Gold Medals... following the Asian super-team, we have 6 European Nations with 1 Gold Medal each (GRE, ESP, GER, HUN, BUL, CRO)... the Medal table is completed by 5 other Countries that got at least 1 Medal, but no Gold ones (SRB, DEN, FIN, FRA and THA)... full results, here: http://www.issf-sports.org/competitions/venue/schedule_by_discipline.ashx?cshipid=2392 for Italy, just a bunch of disappointing results (a couple of bitter 4th places included)...
  15. it was a farce in 2015 and it will be a farce in 2019... it's only a celebration of the former Soviet Republics' power... the real European Champions are those who win the single discipline European Champs, not this joke...

  20. the black (bloody) Sunday of Italian Fencing... in Paris, the men's epee team lost to the Netherlands in round of 32 and no girls did make the round of 16 in the women's individual sabre in Moscow... "when you get to the bottom, you can always start digging" (cit.)

  22. so, at the end of the week Spain surprisingly end up on top of the medal table with 3 Gold Medals, thanks especially (almost only) to their great Kata specialists... in the second place of the Medal Table, with the same number of Gold Medals of the Spaniards (but with less Silver Medals, despite the 10 in total), we have Turkey... followed by last year's toppers, Italy, who won the same number of total medals of 2017 (10), but "only" 2 of those being Gold, which is quite good, but not as good as expected..and it's definitely penalizing in terms of the final Nations Ranking... France and Switzerland also got 2 Gold Medals, finishing 4th and 5th respectively, just ahead of a group of 4 Nations who won "only" 1 Gold Medal each... the Final Medal Table is completed by 12 other Countries (overall, we have 21 Nations with at least 1 Medal), who couldn't get the major honor, but still got some satisfaction... and that's it for 2018...
  23. 24. Team Kata Final Results Men's Gold: Spain Silver: Russia Bronze: Italy & Turkey Women's Gold: Italy Silver: Spain Bronze: France & Turkey wow! Italy beat Spain in the women's final...that's what we can call "a huge" upset...
  25. of course I'm sure you're going to play RUS at the same level and with the same intensity you did play SWE earlier today (or the Czechs in the first match)...
