  11. Some more news around the NHL... first, surprisingly Barry Trotz is no longer the head coach of the Stanley Cup Champions, the Washigton Capitals... more about it, here: https://www.nhl.com/news/alex-ovechkin-surprised-barry-trotz-no-longer-with-washington-capitals/c-299148086 second, the NHL Salary Cap for the next season is expected to increase to 79.5/80 million US $, up from the 75 million US $ of the season just ended... https://www.nhl.com/news/nhl-salary-cap-expected-to-increase-next-season/c-299141082 here are, instead, some news on the expansion process of the upcoming 32nd NHL team (in Seattle) by the 2020/2021 season (if everything goes according to the plan)... https://www.nhl.com/news/seattle-nhl-expansion-process-on-track/c-299141118 meanwhile here we go with a look ahead to the next season, since the NHL has released the 2018/2019 Home Openers for all the 31 teams... the new season will start on the 3rd of October, with the nowadays "classic" quadruple-header (2 US match-ups and 2 Canadians match-ups, covering both the East and West Coast prime time)... these are those games: Boston Bruins @ Washington Capitals Montreal Canadiens @ Toronto Maple Leafs Anaheim Ducks @ San Josè Sharks Calgary Flames @ Vancouver Canucks the full calendar of the 1271 Regular Season games will be released later today (5 p.m. ET, 11 p.m. CET), during a TV show on NHL Network... https://www.nhl.com/news/nhl-2018-19-home-openers-announced/c-299123382 finally, I remember the very last event of the 2017/2018 season, the NHL Draft, scheduled for Saturday and Sunday in Dallas (with the Swedish defenceman Rasmus Dahlin unanimously expected to go no.1 overall and the Russian forward Andrei Svechnikov also unanimously stuck at no.2 overall)... https://www.nhl.com/news/2018-nhl-mock-draft-final-rasmus-dahlin-no-1/c-299112416
  12. Hi, guys! I'm already back! and this is because play on the ice might be over, but this is the week to honor the most successful people around the NHL for the dying season... last night, in fact, the 2018 NHL Awards have been presented to the winners...and this is a short recap... Hart Trophy (MVP): Taylor Hall, New Jersey Devils Ted Lindsay Award (Best Player as voted by NHLPA): Connor McDavid, Edmonton Oilers Maurice Richard Trophy (Top Goal Scorer): Alexander Ovechkin, Washington Capitals Vezina Trophy (Best Goaltender): Pekka Rinne, Nashville Predators Norris Trophy (Best Defenseman): Victor Hedman, Tampa Bay Lightning Calder Trophy (Best Rookie): Mathew Barzal, New York Islanders Jack Adams Award (Coach of the Year): Gerard Gallant, Vegas Golden Knights General Manager of the Year: George McPhee, Vegas Golden Knights more Awards (and details) here: https://www.nhl.com/fans/nhl-awards-event p.s. I don't agree with the MVP Award to Taylor Hall...but still...
  13. naaa...personal feelings are not admitted here... I mean...it was a nice moment of joy (until that shameful semifinal match against ARG) also for me and most Italian people...but, apart for that, we can't say that in general it was the most successful WC ever...
  14. that's just theory...if you see some MG on raisport channel, make a whistle...
  15. damn...you just missed out on Italia90... then you would change all of your personal rankings (especially the negative ones...e.g. the world cup with the most empty stadiums, the world cup with the ugliest stadiums, the world cup with the most boring games, the world cup with the most corrupted refs...oh, no...wait...that was in 2002..."Moreno & friends" forever )...
  16. wow! great win for our foil girls... it was time for a bit of satisfaction... I must admit that I didn't expect them to win and especially I didn't expect Volpi to deliver like she did... and to be honest, I didn't expect also the epee boys to get a medal, especially after the really painful loss to the Russians in the semifinal bout...Russians who proved themselves on fire...and don't tell me that anybody saw the team epee Gold medal coming to the "Sbornaja"... so, now we're safe and we won't end these champs with a shameful 0 in the Gold medal column...let's see if tomorrow we can improve in the last day...
  17. no, you're not the only one... p.s. but I admit he's a great player...
  18. guess what? a medal for Italy not coming from the Foil events! on the other side, in the women's team foil, we have our well expected final between Italy and Russia, after in the semis they smashed Germany and France respectively...
  19. Today's stuff completed... luckily we didn't have to wait that long to get all the infos...
  20. just another doubtful outing for the Italian epee guys... I guess it's time to kick some technical directors (and Garozzo) out...I don't know how they can even think of winning the really important bouts with this tactics... I hope Di Veroli gets ready for this level soon...
  21. naaa...it's me that I'm quite boiled because of this hot & humid day here in Milan... fixed...
  22. women's foil still stuck at quesrterfinals... ITA vs UKR and HUN vs GER in the top half of the draw, FRA vs POL and ESP vs RUS in the bottom half...
  23. Women's Team Foil Final Results: Gold: Italy Silver: Russia Bronze: France Semifinals: Italy b. Germany 45-26 Russia vs France 45-31 Bronze Medal Match: France b. Germany 45-26 Gold Medal Match: Italy b. Russia 41-40 Here is the Full Final Ranking (and Results) from Today's competition: http://fie.org/competitions/2018/746/results/rank
  24. living dangerously... first we beat Poland 20-18, then Ukraine 16-15...should I be optimistic also for the semifinal bout against the Russians?
