  1. not that different from yesterday... and today we have many events in the schedule that have already been postponed and/or heavily conditioned by this bad weather...
  2. nice story... tbh, this was not among my favourite commercial, but at least it has something behind it... better than all those boring cars and/or telecom companies' ads...
  3. women's PSL, athletes qualified to the final brackets 1 Selina JOERG 2 Cheyenne LOCH 3 Ramona Theresia HOFMEISTER 4 Julie ZOGG 5 Patrizia KUMMER 6 Sabine SCHOEFFMANN 7 Aleksandra KROL 8 Maria VALOVA 9 Daniela ULBING 10 Milena BYKOVA 11 Nadya OCHNER 12 Ladina JENNY 13 Natalia SOBOLEVA 14 Nicole BAUMGARTNER 15 Annamari DANCHA 16 ZHANG Ruxin men's PSL, athletes qualified to the final brackets 1 Roland FISCHNALLER 2 Dario CAVIEZEL 3 Dmitry LOGINOV 4 Stefan BAUMEISTER 5 Aaron MARCH 6 Andreas PROMMEGGER 7 Dmitry SARSEMBAEV 8 Zan KOSIR 9 Radoslav YANKOV 10 Benjamin KARL 11 Daniele BAGOZZA 12 Christian HUPFAUER 13 Shinnosuke KAMINO 14 Robert BURNS 15 Arvid AUNER 16 Lukas MATHIES
  4. just to be precise...writing Joerg instead of Jörg is NOT mispelling a name... all the people in the world outside GER/AUT and SUI normally don't have the typical German characters ä, ö, ü and so on...therefore, it's quite normal for all of us using the "international" form for those German letters...and the international form for " ö"is "oe" (for instance, in Italy not even the newspapers nor the TV networks writes "Zöggeler", but he's always "Zoeggeler")...
  5. IOC rules are a lot stricter than National federations'... normally, athletes can change Nationality already after 6 months/1 year (if not even earlier, think about the new Wrestling rules) with the new team... meanwhile the IOC requires 3 years from the last appearance with the former team, unless there is the explicit permission of the old federation directly given to the new one... and usually this comes down to money (with only a few Nations that regularly deny any permission until the 3 years have gone by...nowadays not even Cuba is as tough as they once were)...
  6. very tight race, which is always good for the audience, but...but, even if the best 2 in the game ended up 1st and 2nd, this is not a track good enough to ski a world championship event...no way... by the way, today the girls who should have the most regrets is Marsaglia... she was by far the fastest at the start and among all those who finished the race within half a second from Shiffrin, she's the one who made the most punishing mistake (in the same place where also Shiifrin took a big risk)... if only she could deliver for once a mistake-free race, probably she'd be partying right now...
  7. I understand, but Snowboard is a lot more aleatory than Fencing... there are a lot more factors you can't control properly...especially on a course like yesterday's... so, still coming home with the Gold Medal can't be considered "pretty disappointing"... OK, it could have gone even better (it was really possible), but in the end it wasn't that bad (or did you prefer silver & bronze rather than just gold? )... p.s. and yes, the first name of the Swiss rider is Ladina, meanwhile Jenny (for the English speaking guys, it's pronounced "Yenni") is the Family name...no mistake...
  8. Germany won Gold and you say that's "pretty disappointing"? what did you expect, a clean sweep?
  9. Global Event = World Champs/Olympic Games I know he's been on the podium a few times in the World Cup...but it's not the same thing...
  10. very anti-climatic final among the men... Tim Mastak fell down after 2 gates and Dmitry Loginov just had to come down on his feet to win his first ever medal at a global event...and it's a world championships Gold! Bronze goes to Stefan Baumeister, making the German day even brighter... no comment on Italy's epic fail...
  11. there are a lot of things to be appreciated...the athletic performance, the tactical battle between the 2 sides, the metaphores you can read through the development of play... (American) Football is a "summa" of features needed to succeed in many other sports... and you don't need to watch a full game live (with all its stoppages and commercials)...you can always opt for delayed games (with all the dead moments cut off) or summaries...
  12. Gold for Germany...Selina Joerg beats Natalia Soboleva and wins the world title... Bronze goes to Ladina Jenny of Switzerland...
  13. meanwhile it's SLO to face RUS in the men's Gold Medal run...
  14. but now it's impossible, as they have a 5-sec delay just to cover possible upsets like Janet Jackson's... as I said, Katy Perry is not close to my top, too...but her HT show was memorable... and in a kind of show like that, I think coreography and special effects are even more important than the music itself... by the way, as a R&B and Hip-Hop fan, I think last night's appearance by Big Boi and Travis Scott was almost insulting...
  15. it looks it's gonna be a Russian party...they have a finalist in both the men and women's events... however, awful slope for a PGS, awful course (there's a lot of discrepancy between red and blu tracks) and awful weather conditions (causing a lot of mistakes that could look like beginners' faults, but it's all on that course, instead)... and in absence of her majesty the queen Ester Ledecka (who chose the alpine skiing worlds rather than this event), it's GER vs RUS among the girls...
  16. Matti Nykänen: Finland ski jumping great dies aged 55
  17. lot of surprises in the men's qualifiers...having said of Fischnaller, also the Olympic Champion Galmarini and the big veterans Karl and Dufour are out... and Jasey Jay Anderson is 3rd at the age of 43 (almost 44)...
  18. women's PGS, athletes qualified to the final brackets 1 Selina JOERG 2 Patrizia KUMMER 3 Natalia SOBOLEVA 4 Ladina JENNY 5 Maria VALOVA 6 Annamari DANCHA 7 Ramona Theresia HOFMEISTER 8 Carolin LANGENHORST 9 Elizaveta SALIKHOVA 10 Sabine SCHOEFFMANN 11 Michelle DEKKER 12 ZHANG Ruxin 13 Aleksandra KROL 14 Nadya OCHNER 15 Milena BYKOVA 16 JEONG Hae Rim men's PGS, athletes qualified to the final brackets 1 Dmitry LOGINOV 2 Tim MASTNAK 3 Jasey Jay ANDERSON 4 Zan KOSIR 5 Oskar KWIATKOWSKI 6 Stefan BAUMEISTER 7 Lukas MATHIES 8 Edwin CORATTI 9 Alexander PAYER 10 KIM Sang Kyum 11 Andrey SOBOLEV 12 Vic WILD 13 Aaron MARCH 14 Dario CAVIEZEL 15 Elias HUBER 16 Andreas PROMMEGGER
  19. in a few minutes, it's time for the PGS competitions... Italy had many hopes on this event, but we already lost our leader Fischnaller (and our best newcomer of the year, Bagozza) in the qualification runs... and those who did qualify for the final brackets (March & Coratti among the men and Ochner among the girls), welll...lat's say that they didn't do it "in style"... it will take a miracle for us to come home with a medal, tonight...
  20. without going down to my personal taste in terms of music, only looking at the show itself, I didn't like Maroon 5 (and supporting cast) at all...no special effects, no particularly emotional interpretation of their songs, no virtuosisms...it was just like watching an ordinary MTV video rather than a live show... as someone else said, Katy Perry raised the bar of the SB HT show to a level which nobody has got even close yet...and normally I'm not a big fan of her (if we talk about music only, of course )...

  22. the worst NFL season since many, many years got the worst SB since many, many years, the worst possible winner and the worst halftime show ever... even the commercials were really ordinary... that's definitely deserved...and it couldn't have been different, I suppose... luckily, it's over... hope next season's gonna be better (it won't be difficult, I guess)... p.s. I agree on the killing of Bud Knight as the highlight of night...
  24. I fear it's gonna be blocked, as DAZN also has the rights in Italy (actually, they have the main rights)... however, a VPN would make up for that (there are many with a free trial period with full functionality, if you just don't want to pay for that)... same for the BBC...
  25. a proposito di Lotta, ma si hanno notizie di Kudiiamagomedov (che sembra sparito dal mondo dopo gli Europei del maggio scorso)? è ancora con noi? (in tutti i sensi) perchè tanti misteri su di lui?
