  1. and another European league becomes "open"... I have some kind of mixed feeling for that... from one side, it's good because normally it improves the league itself and gives a big opportunity to the best teams from smaller Countries, which can't have a really competitive league... but from the other side, it takes the National Identity of a league away, at least in part...and I don't like this at all...
  2. to be noticed...in this final there wee 2 teams from Slovakia, 2 teams from Spain and 2 teams from Italy... and finally, a decent result also for our team (even though this WC stage is still very poor for our standards)... p.s. and I still hate this farce events...give us back the Double Trap (both the men and women's competitions) instead of this sh*t...
  3. Clay Target World Cup, Stage #5 (Siggiewi, MLT) Mixed Team Trap Gold: Slovakia-1 (Zuzana Rehak-Stefecekova & Erik Varga) Silver: Italy-2 (Silvana Stanco & Emanuele Buccolieri) Bronze: Italy-1 (Jessica Rossi & Giovanni Pellielo)
  4. I still think this can't be properly named a "Sport" and I'm fully convinced that in any case it shouldn't even be put aside of the 5 Rings of the Olympic Games... but still...it looks that this discipline has some interesting characters... maybe it's even worth watching once every while... http://tomasvintr.wix.com/leticiabufoniofficial and in particular... https://www.instagram.com/leticiabufoni/
  5. GBR take the lead in the medal table with 2 of the 4 individual Gold medals in this WC stage...USA and FIN follow with the remaining Gold medals (1 each, of course)... for Italy, instead, this has been a week to forget as soon as possible...nothing has gone the right way and all our shooters, except for Gabriele Rossetti, underperformed badly...
  6. Clay Target World Cup, Stage #5 (Siggiewi, MLT) Men's Trap Gold: Aaron Heading Silver: Du Yu Bronze: Marian Kovacocy
  7. and for the first time in 15 years, the Calder Cup finals go to game #7... the Texas Stars, in fact, won the 6th episode of this year's saga on the ice of the Toronto Marlies by a score of 5-2 and tied the series at 3 games apiece... it all happened in the 2nd period, when Texas scored 3 unanswered goals totally against the flow of the game..."triple" that killed any hope for last night for the Marlies... this, added to a great performance by Stars goalie McKenna, was basically the key fact of the game... the last and decisive game of the season is scheduled for tomorrow night (7 p.m. ET, 1 a.m. CET), once again at the Ricoh Coliseum in Toronto... here are the game #6 highlights:

  14. years spent watching this sport (search for Seoul 1988 scandals or London 2012 matches between Cuba and Iran in the men's -91kg or the superheavyweight final between Cammarelle and Joshua or all of Tischchenko's bouts in Rio 2016...just to name the most evident scandals, but in the "minor" events it's always a lot worse)... and the fact that almost regularly refs and judges are caught while accepting money or other favors to take their decisions and/or fired by AIBA itself because of their proven corruption... last but not least, just read all the stories about the Azery Company and former AIBA president Wu Ching-Kuo or, even more scary, who's the real "owner" of AIBA right now (the infamous criminal from Uzbekistan Gafur Rakhimov)... then, if someone still wants to trust Santa Claus (or the Earth being flat)...well, I can't do anything to change those opinions...
  15. Clay Target World Cup, Stage #5 (Siggiewi, MLT) Women's Trap Gold: Satu Makela-Nummela Silver: Katrin Quooss Bronze: Ekaterina Rabaya

Lidia Maria Fidura (POL) by WO 8 Countries with at least 1 fighter in today's finals (among those, Russia have 7, Bulgaria 4 and Turkey 3...is that just a coincidence? I don't think so...) 6 more Nations, instead, can enjoy at least 1 medal, but no Gold and/or Silver, since their best fighters stopped their campaign in the semifinals (which means they won the Bronze medal in their respective weight class)... in total, 14 Countries will come back home with some honor. The Gold medal bouts are scheduled for today @ 5 p.m. local time (4 p.m. CET, live streaming on the EUBC Youtube page)...
  17. it's wrong... the ranking will be closed on April, 6th 2020 then there will be the world qualification tournament in May (15th-17th) 2020 and some places will be granted also through the Continental Champs of that year (dates TBD in all Continents)...
  18. sure! and considering that all the table draws are set by this ranking, there's a lot to care about it already in these days... moreover, the qualification through the WR is very, very strict (top 2 in each class, except the -75kg men and the -61kg women, which have the top 4)...so, every tournament will be crucial...probably just 1 single mistake and the chances to qualify through the WR are gone...
  19. no, the limit is set on the world ranking...if I remember well, it's the best 50 in the WR in each class among those who ask to enter the tournament (plus some wild cards for the host Country)...
  20. Karate1 Premier League, Stage #5 (Istanbul, TUR) New K1PL stage and new faces on top of the medal table... overall, Iran dominated the field and won good 3 Gold medals... in the final medal table, they were followed by Japan, Italy and Turkey with 2 Gold medals each (but the second Turkish Gold came in the senseless women's Team Kata event -just to name it...Morocco won the men's Team Kata event)... finally, Finland, Switzerland, Chinese Taipei and Ukraine won the remaining "serious" Gold medals (1 each, of course)... looking at the Olympic classes, the 2 Kata events have been won by Japan (men) and Italy (women, where the Japanese reigning World Champion Kiyou Shimizu lost her first international tournament in the last couple of years)... in the Kumite disciplines, instead, TPE & ITA shared the honors in the lower female division (by winning respectively the -50kg & -55kg), with TUR taking once again the -61kg and SUI & FIN sharing the heavier class (by winning respectively the -68kg and +68kg...to be noticed: second consecutive win for FIN in the women's heaviest class)... on the men's side, IRI & JPN shared the lower weight division (they took the -60kg and -67kg classes, respectively), with UKR topping the middle weights (-75kg) and IRI destroying the field in both the heavy & super-heavyweights (-84kg and +84kg, respectively)... Full Results of the entire stage #5 of the K1PL can be found here: https://www.sportdata.org/wkf/sportsid/popup_main.php?popup_action=results&vernr=171&active_menu=calendar Very important...from the next time (Berlin, GER, 14-16 September 2018) the K1PL Results will count for the Olympic Qualification Ranking, therefore a really tough competition with all the best fighters in the world is expected...
  21. Sailing World Cup, Series Finals 2018 (Marseille, FRA) Final Results (Part #2) Men's Finn Jorge Zarif (BRA), 34 Pts Josh Junior (NZL), 51 Pts Andrew Maloney (NZL), 55 Pts Men's 470 Mathew Belcher / William Ryan (AUS), 44 Pts Jordi Xammar Hernandez / Nicolás Rodríguez García-Paz (ESP), 59 Pts Keiju Okada / Jumpei Okazono (JPN), 63 Pts Women's 470 Hannah Mills / Eilidh McIntyre (GBR), 24 Pts Silvia Mas Depares / Patricia Cantero Reina (ESP), 32 Pts Elena Berta / Bianca Caruso (ITA), 54.7 Pts Men's Laser Philipp Buhl (GER), 53 Pts Hermann Tomasgaard (NOR), 54 Pts Elliott Hanson (GBR), 56 Pts Women's Laser Radial Emma Plasschaert (BEL), 48 Pts Maria Erdi (HUN), 54 Pts Tuula Tenkanen (FIN), 73 Pts
  22. The Toronto Marlies won game #5 of the Calder Cup finals on the ice of the Texas Stars with the score of 6-2 and now the series heads back to Toronto with the Marlies just 1 game away from winning the Cup... Last night they started on fire and with 2 goals in the first couple of minutes basically killed the contest...and despite a shy attempt to open the game by the Stars at the beginning of the second period, from that moment it was only a white and blue show... Game #6 is scheduled for Tuesday (June 12th) night @ 7 p.m. ET (1 a.m. CET) at the Ricoh Coliseum in Toronto and it could be the very last hockey game of the 2017/2018 season... Here are game #5 highlights:
  23. as expected, at the home stage of the World Cup, the US boys and girls did show up big and were the only ones to avoid a full Japanese sweep of the event... for Italy, back to the usual (awful) standards (for sue, the only 5 days between the Japanese and the American stage didn't help Moroni's psychological readyness)...
  24. IFSC World Cup, Stage #6 (Vail, USA) Women's Boulder 1st, Alex Puccio (USA) 2nd, Miho Nonaka (JPN) 3rd, Akiyo Noguchi (JPN) Men's Boulder 1st, Rei Sugimoto (JPN) 2nd, Sean Bailey (USA) 3rd, Tomoa Narasaki (JPN)
