  1. if we only had a serious wrestling federation (and NOC and President of the Republic)... looking at this result, with a decent draw (which means basically avoiding the IRI vs RUS quarter), "our" Kudiiamagomedov could have won at least the silver medal quite easily... but our burocrats are just...our burocrats...

  7. probably they didn't even know this rule...I'm pretty sure they thought about winning (to close the door to every other option) or, at worst, they had to count on the set & then point ratio... otherwise, if they knew that rule, they Marta, Viktoria and all of their coaches are just a bunch of idiots (hopefully they will qualify in any case through the WR, but if this was their only chance, I just can't believe they made such a "tactical" mistake)... p.s. fivb rules for tie-breaking suck big time! once again...
  8. ops...no, the posts above are in the wrong thread...

  14. game officially over... Israel now really have one and a half foot in Tokyo...they can just waste it by themselves...
  15. no way they can do it... meanwhile in the other match played tonight, the Netherlands b. Spain 6-2 now, if Israel win tonight's match, they only need one more success in the last 2 games against Czech Republic (tomorrow) and/or South Africa (Sunday) to mathematically earn the Olympic spot reserved to the European teams, without even caring of what Italy and the Netherlands do in their last matches...
  16. edit: wrong thread...
  17. edit: wrong thread...
  18. at that point it won't be so interesting anymore...we can't cut the number of competitors at all the global events...it would make them boring (with only the usual suspects at the start)...
  19. and the Italian Olympic dream is flying away in a crazy top of the 8th...2 capital mistakes and a weird, really unlucky play opened up a 3-run gap in favour of Israel... and the inning is not over yet... it will be really difficult to comeback from this hole, now...
  20. Street Skateboarding WC 2019: Open Qualifiers in Sao Paulo Competition began yesterday with open qualifiers in São Paulo for the World Skate 2019 SLS Street World Championships. With both relative newcomers and experienced veterans throwing their hats in the ring and with some risking it all to make it to the quarter finals, viewers were treated to great skating all day. Forty one women competed for the chance to join those already seeded in the quarter finals, with twenty one moving on. Men’s qualifiers had one hundred and eight people skateboarding, with twenty one moving on to join the pre seeded quarter finalists. Stakes were high through out the day. Heats were broken down into groups of three skaters going head to head, in jam format, for three minutes per heat. With the field being narrowed so much to get into the quarter finals, often one bail made the difference between making or not. Today should be another great day of skateboarders as we work our way closer super crown final this Sunday. 24. I know what they did...but still I find it unfair and totally anti-climatic from the fans' point of view... I hope one day they find a way to end this competition format and replace it with one where all the lifters fighting for the medals are together in a single session (something like having a qualification round and a final...I know it's very complicated in a sport like this, but somehow they have to improve and make it more fan friendly)...
