  6. Corrick was changed when the score was still tied at 1 apiece then they brought her back when the game was basically gone for them, down 1-4 with bases full, but she was tired and mentally already out of the game and was hit hardly to finish the contest up it's the British bench mistake, Yesterday night vs they kept her in the game when it was not necessary and Today she had a limited pitch count to play with
  7. no, we're mathematically in into the GMM, since we have the tie-breaker over all the other teams that could still end the Super Round with only 2 losses p.s. France is not even close to Spain, even in their wildest dreams
  8. fireworks in the 5th inning gave a big win over 8-1 the final score are through to the Gold Medal game
  9. the "problem" is that it will take years to develop some kind of cancer and pay the prize for such stupid decision
  11. I think only 1, but it depends on how the qualification criteria are set
  13. yes, Italy has often had very good pitchers, for instance Susanna Bugliarello (she's an American born Italian) in late '90's/ early 2000's or more recently Greta Cecchetti (born and raised here), who retired from the NT after Tokyo 2020 (she's the current pitching coach of our NT) right now, the best we have is the Chicago-born Christina Toniolo, meanwhile Julianne Verni (also American born) is a 20-year young newcomer...hopefully she's our next pitching leader, but right now she's too young and she needs to make experience who knows if we can find another good pitcher in North America? maybe... or maybe we can find another Cecchetti...so far, Lacatena was the most promising Italian born pitcher, but she hasn't developed into an international top tier player yet, she's good, but not that great said that, Corrick would probably make the team also with USA and Japan, there are not many pitchers like her in the whole world
  14. they are not playing well on defense, but however they're not as good as the top 3 teams in any case and against Corrick you just can't afford any mistake, 'cause she won't give you many chances to score
  15. with GBR losing only 1-0 to NED and ITA winnig just 2-1 against NED, even a 3-way tie most likely wouldn't be enough for us we just have to beat GBR, that is the game to win since the beginning everything else is just a setup for that there's no comparison because of the nature of the sport, where every small team can always win against a supposed stronger opponent once the pitching performance is favourable to them baseball/softball is not like football, basketball, hockey or any other sport where the hierarchy is almost written in stone
  16. are not on the same level, they only rely on their star pitcher Corrick once she makes a mistake/gets tired, they have no chance against teams like and that have much deeper rosters (despite not having a player like Corrick in the circle)
  17. it has absolutely no consequence, as we must beat in any case
  18. mission accomplished, beat 2-1 thanks to a 2-run HR by Piancastelli in the first inning and to a solid performance by Toniolo and Verni in the circle Tomorrow we just need to beat (who are beating comfortably right now) and to earn a spot in the GMM
  20. yeah, I don't think the USA would let Kovacs out of the team if Crouser isn't fit enough (during the DL Finals our TV commentators said that they were told Crouser was doing quite well in training in that period...what "doing well" means, who knows it? )
  21. not necessarily, but in that case our destiny wouldn't be entirely in our hands anymore, we would need a couple of more scores to happen (obviously, we must win vs and Tomorrow -possibly big wins, then we have to hope for to beat Tonight and to beat Tomorrow -and with scores favourable to us, like a close game with many runs between and and a big Dutch win against the Czechs)
  22. also live & ondemand on Youtube, as all the ISSF events
  23. back to good weather in Prague and finally the games postponed Yesterday have been played earlier this morning this means that now we know the 6 teams qualified for the Super Round: (winner Group Y) (winner Group X) (runner-up Group Y) (runner-up Group X) (3rd ranked Group X) France (3rd ranked Group Y) the 1st gameday of the Super Round is going to be played already this afternoon/night vs @ 5 p.m. CET vs @ 7 p.m. CET vs @ 7.30 p.m. CET (this game is live on Czech public TV, https://www.ceskatelevize.cz/porady/16992181934-me-v-softballu-zen-2025-cesko/225471291311105/ -you need a vpn if you watch on your PC/Laptop) 2nd and 3rd gameday of the Super Round, instead, will be played Tomorrow (weather permitting)
