  1. -67kg: -75kg: +75kg: side polls... 1) in Karate we look for at least 1 gold medal (Luigi Busà, men's -75kg) and 3 medals overall, if not 4 (Viviana Bottaro, women's Kata, Silvia Semeraro, women's +61kg and maybe even Angelo Crescenzo, men's -67kg)... in Boxing, Irma Testa (women's -57kg) surely goes for a medal (to me, she should win gold, but we all know that in Boxing it's not a question of what happens on the ring), Angela Carini (women's -69kg) might also win a medal if she gets a very favourable draw (there are at least 2/3 girls definitely better than her)... 2) 3) no changes on the rules, just get rid of Kata as an Olympic event (replaced by the missing Kumite weight classes) and of course increase the number of athletes per weight class...you can't have only 10 participants at the Olympic tournament when you normally have more than 100 at the world champs... organizational improvement (better scheduling and above all, better picture quality in the streaming coverage) in the regular tournaments would be also appreciated...
  2. in Italy there are still many youngsters watching traditional free tv channels... don't forget that we're the last Nation in the European Union for what concerns the digital development (even if we are also the Country with the highest number of active mobile phones per person in the entire continent)...
  3. Germany Goalkeepers Svend Brodersen (Yokohama FC) Florian Müller (VfB Stuttgart) Luca Plogmann (Werder Bremen) Defenders Benjamin Henrichs (RB Leipzig) Amos Pieper (Arminia Bielefeld) David Raum (TSG Hoffenheim) Jordan Torunarigha (Hertha BSC) Felix Uduokhai (FC Augsburg) Josha Vagnoman (Hamburger SV) Midfielders/Forwards Nadiem Amiri (Bayer Leverkusen) Maximilian Arnold (VfL Wolfsburg) Niklas Dorsch (KAA Gent) Ismail Jakobs (1. FC Köln) Max Kruse (Union Berlin) Eduard Löwen (VfL Bochum) Arne Maier (Hertha BSC) Marco Richter (FC Augsburg) Anton Stach (SpVgg Greuther Fürth) Cedric Teuchert (Union Berlin) Source (in German): https://www.sportschau.de/fussball/u21/kaderbekanntgabe-olympia-stefan-kuntz-100.html https://www.dfb.de/olympiateam/team/
  4. Banchero is in Duke's hands...I'm not sure they will release him, especially if he has to complete some classes to be eligible to play the next NCAA season (which is the only thing that counts for Duke and for him)... Belinelli must stay home...he clearly didn't trust this group's chances and his presence in tokyo would destroy the locker room's atmosphere... he's another Sinner...he doesn't deserve a place with our National team as a man more than under any technical point of view (and frankly he's not that useful to the team on the floor, too after we've watched Mannion and Pajola do what they did this week...I'd rather invest on Spagnolo replacing Spissu, but it won't happen, not with Sacchetti as a coach at least)...
  5. because most people (who aren't hardcore sports fans) only watch the Olympics on the rai (free) channels... and if most people can't watch the most beautiful and exciting sports there, how could we ever hope to increase the fan base on one side and, more important, the number of youngsters practicing some sports if they don't even know their existence? sure, for what concerns myself I can even deny the existence of the Italian TV...I have 100 options to satisfy my desire and my taste, but we can't only look all the times exclusively at our personal interest... so, I'd really like to see our National broadcaster showing all the most important sport events with the best possible coverage on the TV channels (and full coverage online through a dedicated app, possibly not as messy as Eurosport Player), doing what they are supposed to do...the public service... p.s. Rio 2016 rai's online streams weren't even available on a dedicated app on TV screens (they were only for PC and mobile devices) and had an oscene 576p picture quality... I wouldn't call that a "wonderful viewing experience" (it was the best ever only because it was the first time the people had the chance to choose what they wanted to watch...but that's all (and it's not enough to me)... I hope Eurosport Player's service will be better this time, but I fear they will find the way to mess it up with the streams quality and a few spoilers here and there...
  6. not those I'd like to see, but yeah, they do it...
  7. yeah, I saw that, but I thought the link to the live broadcast was better...
  8. yeah, I agree with you... but I think we need at least someone else to play the atypical 4-5 role in Tokyo, because Melli and Tessitori alone aren't enough... so, I think Gallinari and Datome should be back (as said, Datome is the true captain of the team and he will be back for sure if he's healthy)...
  9. fiba has also 5-min highlights (not that good, but still)... Italy vs Serbia game is available in full lenght on raiplay (it was on Rai3 last night at 8.30 p.m.)...of course for registered users (it's free and you can do it from every part of the world), I think you also need a vpn... https://www.raiplay.it/video/2021/07/Basket-Torneo-Qualificazione-Olimpica-Finale-Italia-Serbiadel-04-07-2021-9757d6cc-ea86-4731-ba87-bc20677a5202.html Czech Republic vs Greece is available in full lenght on the CT website (also here, a vpn is required)... https://www.ceskatelevize.cz/porady/10162222914-basketbal/221471291032308-kvalifikace-na-oh/ the other 2 games I think you only have the livebasketball.tv paid service option...
  10. Datome is injured, but if he recovers from that, he will be in the Olympic roster for sure... most likely, Gallinari will join the team, too... Belinelli there's no chance he makes the team now, after he gave up this qualification tournament only because "he felt he was too tired after the club season" (just an excuse...he simply didn't trust the chance to qualify)... Hackett I think has some issues with coach Sacchetti, he's never been used that much since Meo is on the bench...I don't think he will be in the Olympic roster... the only other "big name" missing is Paolo Banchero...he wasn't in Belgrade because Duke University didn't release him due to academical requirements...frankly, I don't know if he's done with that or if he will have to study all Summer long (and I don't know if he's in good shape right now, too)...my guess is that he won't be in Tokyo, too... in the end, I think we will have the same team as in Belgrade with Datome and Gallinari replacing Abass and one between Moraschini or Ricci...
  11. well, now we can choose thanks to Eurosport Player, but until the last time...God bless Slovak TV, because it was the only option in the world to watch Slalom Canoeing qualification runs... by the way, I see that your schedule will be a lot more interesting than the Rai TV's in Italy (will we see anything else than our Volleyball team, Swimming and Cycling if no Italians are fighting for the medals in the other sports? I don't think so... and in case, it would be those boring things like Dressage, Tennis and/or Gymnastics prelims, which is even worse )... so, don't underestimate the Slovak TV...you could get something a lot worse than that...
  12. shameful decision in the Italian team... despite having won all the direct matchups (last one, this weekend at the Italian Nationals) against Alexandra Agiurgiuculese and being the best among our girls in the international competitions earlier this year, Sofia Raffaeli has been left home by our coaches... in the individual event in Tokyo, Milena Baldassari and Alexandra Agiurgiuculese will represent Italy...
  13. just wondering if and where the traditional satellite tv feeds will be placed this time (and which kind of encryption they will use...I hope they're not going with biss 2)... it might be the best option overall to watch the Games with traditional tv technology instead of the sometimes unreliable online streaming...
  14. well, it was the same with FIVB and the world qualification tournaments in Volleyball... there was a true auction for the Countries that wanted to host them... money rules the sport nowadays...and everything is good to make a lot of money, even selling the hosting rights of a tournament (by the way, in 2016 Italy paid FIBA about 5 million US$ to host the tournament won by Croatia against us in the final match...this year it looks it's been cheaper to buy those rights)...
  15. -55kg: -61kg: +61kg: side polls: 1) yes, absolutely yes (but Kumite only, all weight classes) 2)
  16. don't overestimate Italy... we're the perfect team to make Marjanovic look Wilt Chamberlain... we only rely on 3-pt shooting...and given the pressure of the event itself (not to mention the fact that we go mad when we face teams from the former Jugoslavija), there's no chance we can keep a high percentage... really, I don't see how we could give any sort of trouble to your team...especially with this roster...

  18. according to our NOC, Musetti is eligible for the Olympic tournament...
  19. Mixed Team Trap Gold: Italy #1 (Jessica Rossi & Mauro De Filippis) Silver: Russia #1 (Daria Semianova & Alexey Alipov) Bronze: Germany #2 (Bettina Valdorf & Paul Pigorsch)
  20. I think USATF is not legally forced to choose the top 3 in each event, but it might be that if they don't do it, they open some kind of Pandora's Vase and a lot of lawsuits could be filed... the 2 with the highest interest in this case are Jenna Prandini (who was 4th and could get a place among the 3 starters in the 100m individual race) and above all, Aleia Hobbs, who finished 7th and could be selected at least as a reserve for the relay instead of being out at 100%... will be an interesting next 4 weeks or so...
  21. get a working european vpn and go for the eurosport player app...all the feeds you need in HD and even some footage in 4K (they promised it, but it's still to be seen if they will actually do it)... or the french tv streams...but those will be only with environmental sound, no commentary...
  22. this is a bomb... Sha'Carri Richardson tested positive for Marijuana...and she admitted it with no excuse on her social media... https://www.reuters.com/lifestyle/sports/us-sprinter-richardson-tests-positive-cannabis-could-miss-olympics-sources-2021-07-02/
  23. the Discovery vs cable/sat provider in Europe is quite common dispute... also here in Italy, any renewal between sky ITA and Eusp/Discovery is a mess...and this year, like it was in Pyeongchang, despite we have Eusp1 & 2 on sky ITA lineup, they won't show the Olympic Games on their channels because sky ITA doesn't want to pay an extra amount of money for that... we can only rely on eurosport player (or D+ app, here we're in the middle of the transition...so, most likely we're gonna have 2 different apps showing all the Olympic stuff) and not on any traditional tv channel... p.s. I agree...we're losing all the sport we used to have for free thanks to those greedy pay tv/OTT companies...and that's not good in many ways...
  24. yeah, I'm also taking advantage of the Black Friday offer (24.99€/year, so, even less than you ) for many years, but since a few people asked about it for the Olympics, I reported the not discounted offer taking place right now in Italy... I know that's different from most Countries, but it's just to give an idea of how cheap it is if compared to basically any other sport service...
  25. women's Team Trap Gold: Great Britain Silver: Russia Bronze: Czech Republic men's Team Trap Gold: France Silver: Czech Republic Bronze: Croatia
