  1. Grand Slam (Abu Dhabi, UAE) Day #3 Recap South Korea, thanks to the 2 Gold Medals (Cho Gu Ham, men's -100kg & Han Mi Jin, women's +78kg) won in the 3rd and last day of action, topped the Medal Table at the end of the tournament with 3 Gold Medals... Today's remaining Gold Medal went to: Nikoloz Sherazadishvili (men's -90kg), Roy Meyer (men's +100kg) and Klara Apotekar (women's -78kg) Following the Koreans, in the final Medal Table the Netherlands and Slovenia ranked second and third respectively, both with 2 Gold and 1 Silver Medal, but the Dutch having won also 1 Bronze medal more than the rivals... Finally, 7 more Nations ( Ukraine, Kosovo, People's Republic of Korea, Kazakhstan, Italy, Turkey and Spain) won 1 Gold Medal each... Full Results, here: http://www.ippon.org/gs_uae2019.php
  2. first race of the year...and here we go already with a serious looking injury... poor Bernadette...
  3. Seoul Doosan Bears sweep the 2019 Korean Series bottom of the 9th inning: the Bears are 3-0 ahead in the series and 9-8 ahead in game #4... the 1st out has already been registered, but suddenly the Kiwoom Heroes manage to load the bases...1 more hit and the series is likely to go to game #5... but a badly "chopped" swing by Kim Gyu-Min does waste the second out for the Heroes, allowing the pitcher to easily catch the ball and complete the forced out at home base... then, on the following play, what looked an easy play for Doosan's third baseman became a capital mistake and allowed Kiwoom to at least tie the game, but that was the only run they managed to score...so, a 10th inning was required... and in the top of the 10th, the Bears immediately jumped all over the Heroes' pitcher and scored the 2 runs that gave them the victory in this match and the clean sweep in the entire series... before this decisive moments, the first 5 innings of the game have been an amazing slugfest, with the Heroes taking a large lead after only 2 fractions, but allowing the Bears a big 5-run comeback in the 5th, which proved to be the key moment of today's meet... then things settled down for quite a while, before the final fireworks... and finally, after a 5-hour battle, the Doosan Bears could start the party... game #4 final score: Doosan Bears, 11 beat Kiwoom Heroes, 9 2019 Korean Series Final Result: Doosan Bears, 4 beat Kiwoom Heroes, 0 game #4 boxscore https://mykbostats.com/games/7443-Doosan-vs-Kiwoom-20191026 game #4 highlights https://sports.news.naver.com/kbaseball/vod/index.nhn?category=kbo&tab=game&listType=game&date=20191026&gameId=77771026OBWO02019&teamCode=&playerId=&keyword=&id=601842&page=1 game #4 full match replay https://sports.news.naver.com/kbaseball/vod/index.nhn?category=kbo&tab=&listType=game&date=20191026&gameId=77771026OBWO02019&teamCode=&playerId=&keyword=&id=601873&page=3
  4. and it's over! China fly to Tokyo, Belgium can only blame themselves...
  5. Belgian girls don't even have idea on how to make the Chinese goalie move before shooting...
  6. drama! big drama in China... Belgium gave up 2 goals in the final 5 mins and now they have to go to the shootout to try and save their asses...
  7. I can already say that next year we're going to have the worst Summer Olympics ever...sure... I'm so disappointed with Japan (and IOC)... I had so high expectations...they already demolished them all...awful outdoor venues, doubtful choice of some venues, overrun presence of non-sport events, crazy schedule... maybe it's time for me to leave the "Olympic sport" coverage once and forever...
  8. you can always use a vpn... by the way, I saw a few unofficial videos of almost all the events still on youtube...maybe those are available worldwide... p.s. maybe NOS website could be an option, if they have an archive...
  9. hoping that they're not geo-blocked in your Country (in Italy they are unavailable) women's all-around final men's all-around final apparatus finals, day 1 apparatus finals, day 2

  11. thanks... tbh, I don't remember the details, but at the time I had a couple of bouts not exactly going according to my personal scorecard... yeah, Jalolov didn't do much in the final and I guess he won more because of his status than for what he actually did on the ring...I only wanted to say that he was the pre-competition favourite and not taking him as the winner before the final wasn't a mainstream choice... by the way...yeah, as often happened in the aiba events even in the past, the finals didn't have any shameful verdict (especially compared to the women's worlds), but the earlier rounds...
  12. @bestmen must have taken a special exemption to the Islamic principles and now he's completely drunk after a wild party following Helassa's win earlier today...

  14. great score...I surely couldn't do near as good...but do you really think that all weight classes had the "right" verdict? p.s. not predicting the Gold Medal for Jalolov (even before the start of the championship, not only before the final bout) imho was really a brave choice...

  16. Grand Slam (Abu Dhabi, UAE) Day #2 Recap Second day of action in Abu Dhabi and once again we had great balance between the participating Nations, with the 4 Gold Medals awarded today going to 4 different Countries (different also from those winning yesterday's Golds)... so, now we have 9 Nations at the top of the medal table with "only" 1 Gold Medal each... Today's Gold Medal winners are: Bilal Ciloglu (men's -73kg), Lee Moon-Jin (men's -81kg), Tina Trstenjak (women's -63kg) and Kim Polling (women's -70kg) Full Results, here: http://www.ippon.org/gs_uae2019.php
  17. 2019 Korean Series, game #3 a big 3rd inning (a double, a triple, a 2-run shot and a couple of mistakes by the Heroes) was enough for the Doosan Bears to put also the 3rd game of the Korean Series in the bag (5-0 the final score)... today, the Kiwoom Heroes' presence was totally unfelt...just a few hits collected by the home team here and there, but nothing that could put the Bears under some pressure... very disappointing match, especially if compared with the first 2 of this same series... now the Doosan Bears lead the series 3-0 and are just 1 win away from the title... the possible clincher, game #4, is scheduled for tomorrow @ 2 p.m. local time, 7 a.m. CET... game #3 boxscore https://mykbostats.com/games/7442-Doosan-vs-Kiwoom-20191025 game #3 highlights https://sports.news.naver.com/kbaseball/vod/index.nhn?category=kbo&tab=game&listType=game&date=20191025&gameId=77771025OBWO02019&teamCode=&playerId=&keyword=&id=601528&page=1 game #3 full replay https://sports.news.naver.com/kbaseball/vod/index.nhn?category=kbo&tab=&listType=game&date=20191025&gameId=77771025OBWO02019&teamCode=&playerId=&keyword=&id=601529&page=3
  18. in the meantime, literally in a few seconds the 3rd game of the 2019 Korean Series is set to start... right now, the Seoul Doosan Bears lead the series (best-of-7) 2-0 against the Seoul Kiwoom Heroes after 2 thrilling walk-off wins in the first 2 home games... for those who are interested, today's game can be watched live on this website (where later tonight also highlights and full game replay will be available)... https://sports.news.naver.com/tv/index.nhn?uCategory=kbaseball&category=kbo&gameId=77771025OBWO02019
  19. Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks confirm themselves on the throne of NPB The Hawks won also game #4 of the 2019 Japan Series (4-3 the final score, with the damage done in the 4th inning, when 3 runs entered for the hosts and once again nothing could then do the Giants, despite another late effort...the Moinelo -setup man- and Mori -closer- combo shut the last Yomiuri's hopes down for the 4th time in a row) and swept the series 4-0... Hawks' Cuban star Yurisbel Gracial was awarded the Japan Series MVP (a well deserved MVP award, I must admit)... It's the 3rd title in a row for the team from Fukuoka, the 5th in the last 6 years, the 7th in the new Century and the 10th overall since the NPB established in 1950... game #4 boxscore http://npb.jp/bis/eng/2019/games/s2019102301841.html
  20. by the way, going back to the question, in the past few days I gave a look at the 1964 Olympic sites for Rowing and Canoeing (which were different)... and they are gazillion times more attractive than this sh*t of 2020, especially Lake Sagami (the canoeing site in 1964), which looks a lovely place... imho, they should have used that venue for Rowing, Sprint Canoeing, Open Water Swimming and Triathlon also in 2020... https://www.google.it/search?q=Lake+Sagami+pictures&tbm=isch&source=hp&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwi-rLuXibflAhWhy6YKHdeAChIQ7Al6BAgHECQ&biw=1920&bih=1199
  21. Karate has objective criteria to determine how points are scored... p.s. and Citius = faster is one of them...
  22. I already wrote many very long pamphletes against all the "judged sports" at the Olympics... but in some cases, like Artistic Swimming, Rhythmic Gymnastics, those freestyle freaks and above all breakdance, to me they are just NOT sports at all...they are just entertaining shows which have nothing to do with real competition (which to me it's almost only man vs man or man vs time)... Olympic Motto is "Altius, Citius, Fortius"...and those activities don't match any of these criteria to elect their "champions", therefore they shouldn't even be recognized as true sports by the IOC... that's my point of view about this question (to make it short...don't want to get anybody "bored to death" )... obviously, I don't expect everybody to agree with me, but at the same time, it would take a miracle to make me change my mind on that...
  23. Turkey and Jordan dominating the field among the cadets in the Kumite events... and behind them, very widely spread range of medallists, coming from all over the world, confirming once again the universality and great participation of the sport of Karate... but better have at the Olympics "things" like breakdancing, BMX freestyle, 3x3 basketball and so on...
