  1. They probably don’t even want to in fairness. It’s just me feeling that it’s a shame our best shooter is left at home.
  2. No reallocations have been awarded in women’s Trap. Maybe there were no available candidates. In that case could decline the men’s quota and be awarded the women’s? Although I may be unfair on Ian O’Sullivan who could also get the quota.
  3. Yeah. Very tough luck though for Aoife Gormally if that's the case.
  4. Our Male Trap Shooter is 52 and has competed at 4 previous Olympiad. Our Female Trap shooter is ranked in Top 20 and was 7th at Recent European Championship. Would be very silly for us to accept this.
  5. Can decline the mens Trap and instead get the Womans trap?
  6. Arthur Lanigan O’Keefe in Modern Pentathlon. Injured hip. ps. No idea how to insert flag!
  7. What about the two tripartite spots?
  8. Arthur Lanigan O’Keefe is injured and won’t be going to Tokyo even if he qualifies.
  9. WTAF? Actually I remember some talk of something similar in 2016.
  10. That will be three sports that we had no competitors in 2016. Judo, Canoeing and Taekwondo. Probably shooting too.
  11. So in theory about 1/3 of the field in the 100m could be universality places? Some events will have few, if any from the rankings so.
  12. I think the universality places are in addition to the 56 qualifiers. In theory every country could send an athlete to compete in the 100 m if they had no other athletics qualifier. there were 23 universality places in 100m in 2016. But I could be very wrong.
  13. That’s what I thought too on the same evidence. Me may be ok provided a few lads ranked in the 40s don’t finish in the top 20. Although he won’t go to Tokyo just to be there.
  14. Any word on AOK in pentathlon? Is he competing in World Champs?
  15. The IOC told sporting federations to reallocate North Koreas quotas so it looks now that Megan Ryan can be officially included in Team Ireland.
  16. I checked the 4 x 100 results from 2016. Jamaicas women got 6 medals to include the 2 runners who ran in the heats but not the final. Unless the rule was changed for 2020 and I find no record of that
  17. There were two Koreans ahead of him and only 1 counts.
  18. But I have seen countries use different squads in the heats and the finals? Well at least two athletes. How could that be if the have to nominate just 4 in advance
  19. Is the really not a squad of six?
  20. I’d definitely include 8 swimmers..4 plus the 4 x 200m relay team. Also I think that divers will be ok. There is no way FINA can exclude them after saying they had qualified on their website. I’d be far less confident about the medley relay. An awful lot of our athletes are close to the cut off on both sides. We could have a load or just a handful. The next couple of weeks will be seriously interesting. I think Nadia Power is now ranked 29 so is probably safe
  21. The women’s Trap is a reallocation of a host country spot while the men’s trap is a reallocation of a tripartite spot. I think the host country spot takes precedence
  22. True. But FINA have already screwed up the Diving..again affecting Ireland..so the IOC may have lost patience
  23. Two are qualified and a third is a member of the 4x200 team so only one swimmer directly affected.
