Unexpected bronze medal in Athletics!

The Brazilian flagbearer lost his SF bout in boxing. Ouch. One more chance for gold gone. We have another one in the afternoon, and even if this guy loses, he will probably fight against Samoa for the bronze medal, so another medal is quite possible.

I don't know why in Twitter everybody says Brazil is the team "verdeamarelha". The words for yellow in Portuguese are amarelo (male) and amarela (female), not amarelha. My best guess is that in Spanish the word is "amarillo" and they think they have to "convert" the "ll" to "lh" in Portuguese.

The Serbian guy did so well! I'm impressed! Too bad he had to make three giant circles before his dismount and only two are allowed without a penalty in execution.

The Italian gymnast had a HUGE routine with a lot of difficult releases. Simply amazing!

Soares tried to increase his difficulty and fell. Oh, well. At least he tried. He had zero chances of getting a medal if he didn't increase his difficulty, so he did the right thing (despite probably finishing last). Kitazono received a much higher score than he deserved. This is the first score I consider to be completely wrong in the whole competition. It's been fair so far (mostly), but Kitazono's score really killed it. He deserved 13.7 or less.

Puiu is a disgrace to Romania. I can't believe they didn't have someone better than her.

This mixed teams format in table tennis is severely flawed. The Japanese team is playing against "Europe 1" team (Serbia and Sweden). The Serbian girl lost the first match, but the Swedish guy had a very convincing win in the second match. Then they are forced to play doubles against a Japanese pair who had the chance to train together for months. Really fair, yeah.

China didn't seem to do veeeery well. He was good, though not as good as I would've expected.

The Spanish boy did a FANTASTIC job now on the trampoline. Clean execution, high jumps, difficult skills. He got it all. I hope he earns a medal.

In the end, everybody seemed to be overscored a little bit. I'd say they nailed the results. No question about the top 3. The podium was absolutely right. By the way, they have been doing an incredible job with the scores so far. Things were a little bit loose on vault, but since everybody was judged under the same criteria, the end result was perfectly right.

What a shock. I thought Briones had absolutely no physical capacity to smile. So he does have a bit of a soul inside of him...
