  1. Women's 50m + 100m Free Anna Hopkin will represent us here in both where she'll make both finals but ultimately come up short. Freya Anderson will also be aiming for a final in the 100. Skye Carter has an outside chance of qualifying in the 50. 200m Free I expect both Freya's (Anderson and Colbert) to get the quotas here. Colbert may choose to decline this in favour of other events but I doubt that she will. Given her performances in Doha, Abbie Wood could challenge but I don't think she'll go for the 200m Free here. Both Anderson and Colbert will be aiming for a final in Paris.
  2. 4x100m Free Relay Disappointing result in Doha but I expect them to improve come Paris and challenge for Gold. 4x200m Free Relay A tad disappointing in Doha but no Dean or Guy, who'll replace McMillan and Max Litchfield who raced here. I still expect us to win Gold in Paris and break the world record in the process. 4x100m Medley Relay All depends on what form Peaty's in, if he's going low-sub 58 then I reckon we'll take the Gold. If not then we'll be lucky to get bronze.
  3. 200m Medley Scott and Dean will represent GB here with both looking to challenge Marchand for Gold. 400m Medley Max Litchfield should just about qualify here, and we'll what type of form he's in on Sunday in this event as he looks to make the final.
  4. 100m Fly James Guy and Jacob Peters will represent GB here with both, hopefully, challenging for medals in what looks to be a tight contest. 200m Fly It really depends if Guy wants to do the 200 along with the 100 and relays, if not then no one will come close to qualifying here as Max Litchfield is less likely than Guy to give this event a go.
  5. 100m Breast Adam Peaty and James Wilby will represent GB. It's unknown what shape Peaty's gonna be in come Paris, but based off Doha he should at least challenge for a medal. 200m Breast In a normal world Wilby should qualify for this with some ease and be challenging for the final. But his forms been so poor there's a good chance he won't even qualify. Greg Butler has an outside chance of achieving the standard, but he's certainly one for the future.
  6. 100m Back Oliver Morgan and Jonathan Adam will most likely represent GB here, with Luke Greenbank focusing on the 200. Adam will target a semi, Morgan a final. 200m Back Similar to the 200 Free, 3 swimmers (Greenback, Morgan and Brodie Williams) will battle for 2 quotas. If achieved, all 3 will target a spot in the final.
  7. 400m Free Would be nothing short of a minor miracle if we qualify someone here, would take a Kieran Bird esque PB like in 2021 for us to achieve the British Swimming standard. Max Litchfield and the aforementioned Bird are the lead contenders to achieve it. 800m And 1500m Free I expect Dan Jervis to qualify and potentially reach the final in both in Paris, but mainly in the 1500. He missed out on the 800 BS standard by 0.01 seconds last year, and if he somehow does the same this year I think the selectors may let him decide if he wants to compete the 800.
  8. Men's Events 50m Free Ben Proud will once again challenge for Gold in this event, although his chances look slimmer than before as McEvoy joins Dressell in potentially going sub 21 seconds. Lewis Burras or Alexander Cohoon could also potentially join Proud here. 100m Free Like Proud, Matt Richards will challenge for Gold here. He chances look a bit better as the likes of Pan and Popovici and put in inconsistent performances as of late, although I expect Pan to have tightened this up comes Paris. Burras or Jacob Whittle look most likely to accompany Richards, Duncan Scott could also do the 100 if he fails to qualify for the 200 at trials. Speaking of which.... 200m Free Whichever 2 of Scott, Richards and Tom Dean take the spots will be instant medal favourites, and if either one of them are on top form in Paris they'll blow everyone else out the water. Hwang and Rapsys lead the charge against the Brits.
  9. Thought I'd update this a little with the vast majority of Olympic GB events now being completed at the worlds, this time using the same format as the cycling one (and also giving comments on qualification hopes).

  12. The thing with this event, and the whole sport of surfing for that matter, is that it's so unpredictable and wide open that half the entries in each category have a realistic shot at getting a quota.
  13. Qualifying through this is vital for us, as I don't think we'll get anyone through the individual qualifiers.
  14. According to Wikipedia Olin got the reallocated Pan Am qualifier. Also I don't think Huscenot is eligible to qualify through world games due to France already having host and 2023 EU world games quota.

  17. can't be in as that'd mean they'd have to compete exclusively as Oceania for all FIFA events, which they don't want as it means piss easy games (bar New Zealand) and no Asia Cup.
  18. As a kid this would be a nightmare scenario, but at the top level it's not that bad of a prospect.
  19. The relays are always a spectacle at an Olympics, so keeping them as they are is better for the fan experience (which in Bach's eyes is what it's all about). I do agree though the 50 fly, back and breast should be included - it's not like it's hard to fit onto the schedule or would take up too many quotas, plus it'd stop the 50m (heats) and the 100m heats from being clogged up with tripartite and universality invites.
  20. I think what concerns me the most is that when everyone were at their freshest (not having to swim more than once in a day) he struggled a bit to keep up with them. I am gonna wait to see how he's doing after trials and mare nostrum (if he does them) before making any final judgement.
  21. Thankfully your "feelings" tend to be horribly wrong, so I think we're OK on this one. Peaty and Wilby are the only ones who are doing poorly, everyone else is either doing just as or better than expected.
  22. Peaty's gonna have to put tons of work in if he wants to at least medal at Paris, his severe lack of negative split is very worrying.
  23. Fink takes the 100m breast title. Peaty looked poor in the last 50 and had nothing left to hit back at Fink and Martenenghi, worrying times heading towards Paris.
