and guess where is Kazakhstan. always in the easier half. I really hope someone stops that Israeli wrestler from winning a medal or quota. I don't think his first round opponent Lebanese wrestler (who is half American and is an Asian Games silver medalist) shows up tomorrow. Syria and Kosovo are in the quota match thanks to the stupid draw system of UWW. even though I think it's good to see one of them at the Olympics. the Syrian guy is actually from Russia as I said last night. he is the favorite.
-
there are some countries in the world, I never want them to host anything because they are not ashamed of any kind of cheating to get results. Kazakhstan is one of them. yesterday Bajrang got robbed blatantly and today they did the same to our 70kg wrestler. in a normal world the score should be 13-6 in favor of Emami but they made him lose 7-6 !!! I'm not talking about 50/50 calls or small mistakes. that was blatant cheating. Kazakhstan normally has a mediocre freestyle team but now they are the 2nd best team behind Russia !!! mostly because they get dream draw and also because they got supports from the refs. this is really amazing all of Kazakh wrestlers are in the best part of the draw. I will make a summary at the end of the competition. finally Karimi made it to the final , it will be against his arch rival Cox. he lost to this Russian wrestler once in the worst experience of his life. he was leading the match he was told from the corner "Ali you have to lose" and he lost. I'm sure he feels better now after destroying that Russian wrestler 10-0.
-
The first session was almost perfect for Iran except the last match at 125kg ruined it a bit. it was a sure bronze only if Mohebbi could score one more. he is our reserve guy in this weight, I'm 100% sure about the quota in this weight in Asia. and I have absolutely no exception at 74kg. that was our worst wrestler ever ! on other hand, Atri won the quota at 55, and we will have 2 in the semifinal in non-Olympic weights. I wasn't expecting more but then that 125kg was really close.
-
@Benolympique Khadjiev won the quota. congrats ! a bit of surprise but I knew he is tricky and always can surprise
-
he has a chance but he has to win his first match vs Kentchandze. won't be easy at all. or if he loses he can pray for Kentchadze to upsets Chamizo in the semifinal. I think Khadjiev's chance isn't higher than 10%. but I know he is a tricky wrestler.
-
2nd day of freestyle 74 1) looks very easy for Chamizo, the only who can challenge him is the Kazakh guy. who will most probably qualify through repechage. 2) Kentchadze is the clear favorite but it won't be very easy for him, we have Khadjiev, Nedealco, and 2 more from UKR and ARM. but they have to beat Kentchandze because there is no repechage because of Chamizo in the semifinal. 3) very very easy for Sidakov, and if he manages to beat Burroughs (or anybody else) in the semifinal. one of these guys will be in the Olympics ! it's hard to pick any of them. bunch of mediocre wrestlers. Ireally had hard time to pick any of them. I go with Japan even though I don't know this guy. only because their main wrestler is a good one and if this guy beats Fujinami he is probably good too. 4) as usual 15 wrestlers in this quarter, so many candidates, but of course the main candidate is Jordan Burroughs. I think Abdurakhmanov is the next best guy in this quarter, we also have Demirtas and the Azerbaijani wrestler, and again Gomez, Nurikov, a Russian from Hungary. plus 2 grandpa coming back after a big while, Garzon of Cuba and of course Sushil Kumar !!! and I don't even mention our wrestler, he is the worst. my picks: 125 1) this is funny, Geno is already in the semifinal no doubt, but there are 6 other below average wrestlers here and one of them will go to the Olympics when Geno wins the semifinal. I don't know these guys and had to search about them. I think this is the best possible chance for all of them. the Syrian guy is actually from Russia (with Syrian heritage) I don't know anything about him but he is Russia after all ! 2) this is probably the toughest "quarter" because if we consider Geno and Akgul as tier 1, we have 5 Tier 2 wrestlers here. and only one of them will go to the Olympics because the winner will lose to Geno. both Iran and Russia have last minute replacements here, I assume they are not in the best possible shape, to me it will be between UKR or USA. but of course all of those 5 guys stand a good chance. 3) piece of cake for Taha, and most probably a quota for Ligeti. maybe only the Indian guy Sumit has something like 10% chance to upset Ligeti. this one was easy to predict. 4) Ding is the 2nd seed and world silver medalist but I still I can't consider him the favorite, we have Magomedov here, I also don't know about his shape. I expect Ding and Magomedov to face in the QF but that's not a sure thing. one thing is guaranteed, only one wrestler will qualify from this quarter. my picks: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I assume people are less interested in non-Olympic weights but finally we have someone with a very easy draw yayyy I think we will have semifinalists in both of these non-Olympic weights. not just because they were lucky. they were also better wrestlers comparing to our team members in "olympic weights"

technically this is not a "break time" I run a simulation and it takes 3-4 minutes. so here I am writing that needs more than 3-4 minutes I will surely write it later today before going to sleep.
-
option 2, I remember so many exams I went to without sleeping a minute. but well I was 17-18 and not sleeping wasn't a problem for me. even for 2 nights in a row. I guess I can't do that anymore. for example I didn't sleep last night (was on a deadline for my job and had to finish something, and also I wanted to watch the wrestling early in the morning) and I'm very tired now. still no sleep because I have things to do (and if you ask me why I'm answering to you while I have important things to do. because I'm on my PC to do my job and you need a break sometimes)
-
I understand boxing. this sport is simply hard to judge. but wrestling shouldn't be that hard. they also have video challenge system !! there are 2 problems. 1) rules are not clear. there are so many 50/50 situations, 2) those who apply these rules are corrupt . and I have to tell you the current UWW is an upgrade comparing to the old FILA. you can imagine how bad it was. and it's not about all combat sports, taekwondo is going into the right direction. yes there are still matches like Walkden-Zheng this year. but they reduced it big time. personally I don't feel "organized cheating" anymore when I watch teakwondo. while in wrestling I simply never trust the refs when we are facing certain countries. for example Azerbaijan used to receive favorable calls all the time. but since last year they stopped their financial support and this year I have to say some of their wrestlers got robbed. they turned into the victim in a year !
-
That was only one of the "fouls" he committed today. I think the center referee asked for point+caution at least 3 times (or maybe 4) but they accepted it only once. beside that the ref also once asked for 2pts for Bajrang for exposure still not confirmed by other 2 refs . and that 4pts throw . this time all 3 refs agreed with 4pts for Niyazbekov. the Iranian commentator was sure it was 4 for Bajrang. personally I'm not sure. that was 50/50 call. somehow both of them initiated the attack. I will watch it again later today to convince myself what was the correct call. right now I don't know. but even if that one was correct, Bajrang has enough reasons to be mad. I think in a fair world, Niyazbekov should be disqualified with 3 cautions btw I wonder if anybody noticed most of Kazakhstani wrestlers received very good draws. they had 2 today. both of them used it. they will have another one at 74kg tomorrow. they also had some "very easy draws" in Greco. 2-3 at least. I wonder if they were just lucky or something happened behind the scene.
-
China sometimes bring unknown wrestlers and make some surprises but I think it will be between Micic and Davidovi with a very good chance for Micic.
-
I said last night that I consider that Atli-Sanayev match 60-40 for Sanayev. and I wasn't wrong. Sanayev was a bit better but Atli survived in the last seconds. so Micic has a VERY good chance for the quota. but the Italian Davidovi is also got some good results recently. that won't be piece of cake. btw Bajrang got robbed in the semis. that 4pts throw was dubious at best and after that the center referee (who happened to be from Iran) called 1pt and 2pts for Bajrang in 3-4 times but the other two refs rejected him.
-
@phelps you should learn from Hungary to be so fast. they found Musukaev only few months ago and you just saw what happened. not a great day for Iran but it was all expected. Yazdani had no chance from the start. still he lost a very winnable match. Atri on other hands had two very close matches (he won the first match exactly in the very last second) before losing 2-0 to Uguev and he had the golden chance for 2pts takedown in the last minute. just missed it. even if Uguev wins the semifinal, Atri still has to wrestle the winner of AZE or MGL. still a very tough task . Indian 57kg surprised me, I wrote you can never underestimate India in this light weights but still his results were very surprising. I can't say "good luck" for him in the semifinal for obvious reasons. even though it's always hard for me to cheer for Russia in wrestling but that's how repechage works ! what's amazing is they still didn't disqualify Aliyev ! they had to bring the entire Nur-Sultan police to remove him from the arena. it will be the biggest scandal ever if they let him wrestle the repechage. I know he got robbed but his reaction was unbelievable.
-
The freestyle competition started with controversy. for the biggest match of the first round. Haji Aliyev scored a takedown in last 4 seconds but then after the challenge they gave the score to the Russian Rashidov. and then Aliyev got mad and threw everything he had to the referees ! he is still in the list but It will be a huge surprise if they don't disqualify him and that was stupid. when you lose to Russia. there is always chance to get a second chance in repechage I have to see the action again but at least at first it looked like a robbery. btw they made up for Azerbaijan 15 minutes later by sacrificing the Kyrgyzstani wrestler against Amiraslanov. another dubious call in last 5 seconds.

I don't think Sindo appreciates me uploading another 16mb, I'm going to email them. you should already received the first mail.
-
OK change of plan. I hope Sindo doesn't mind uploading 16mb actually when there are official results books I just keep them but when there are not, I create my own version which usually includes only necessary information. having both "Entry list" and "start list" isn't necessary for example. Download
-
I created these PDFs myself , I only kept interesting things . they are not official "result books" but they have a short schedule. entry list, medalist and of course the full results. something like this. I will email all of them to you tomorrow Wushu.pdf
-
you just have to give me your email. you want all of them ? or any specific sport ?
-
I always wonder why in English they call him Cyrus ! here he is called Kourosh ! totally different and Uthmans conquered Khorasan ? I didn't know that, that's the far right of Iran if you check the map (Turkey is in the west). they had to conquer the whole Persian empire to reach Khorasan my friend the war is started long time ago. except this is a win-loss war right now. Iran is trying to make it a loss-loss war for everybody. btw USA is "locked and loaded" for a very long time. their threats are not scaring people anymore. in the meaning time, USA is denying visa for the Iranian delegation for the UN summit. that was very brave from Trump.

yeah that and that's funny people/media in west call him just "Ayatollah" sometimes. that's wrong. that's just a title. there are lots of Ayatollahs. Supreme Leader is the current title for "that guy" actually it happened once before. back in 1987 during the World Wrestling Championships one of the Iranian wrestlers faced and beat the Israeli wrestler in Greco-Roman. at first it was a great victory over the "enemy" and from what i heard the newspapers made it like a huge win. but then when someone told that to the "supreme leader" (not this guy but the founder of the Islamic republic) they called the whole team from France in middle of the competition and didn't let the freestyle team to even participate (freestyle competition was supposed to held right after the GR) one of the rare occasions Iran didn't participate in World Freestyle wrestling Champs. so no beating Israel won't change a thing. you know Mollaei's plan was going to the final and beat Muki (and I don't know what after that, most probably not returning to Iran) but then when he lost the semifinal he went for his "Plan B" and posing himself as a victim and started to lie and working with IJF. if he could beat Muki in the final and then return back to Iran with his gold medal. that would be something interesting. he would lose his place in the team for sure but they wouldn't touch him. I'm sure about that. and that way he could be a "real hero" and maybe that could encourage other athletes to maybe do the same. but now, to me he is a lying coward. even though lots of people in Iran believe his lies and still consider him hero. they will face the reality when he lose next time. he is speaking in his interviews like all of his defeats were intentional and I had to explain to some of my friends, if he is such an unbeatable champion, why he never won the Asian title in his career ?! there is no Israel in Asia. but people believe what they want to believe.
-
sah ? that was Shah (meaning king in Persian) . no this one has a different title. still the same thing though with almost absolute power, even worse people are on the athlete's side. at least the majority but there is no referendum about it. nobody asks people's opinion in this matter. and it's not like people are going into the streets for that. and they always pay a good money prize to the athlete to at least make up for that. Mr Mollaei was a bit upset because nobody paid him for his loss in China masters !! which wasn't an intentional defeat, he simply lost to the Japanese , but now we are here he is making all his normal defeats like that one in Paris (the only time he lost on purpose) what makes me angry is everybody believes whatever he says. I'm sure people here who knows Judo can back me up that his defeat against Casse in WCh semifinal was real.

do I sound like someone who supports the current regime ? if I have only "one wish" in my life that is to see regime change here in my life (I'm not optimistic about it though , maybe after 50-60 years and i don't think I live that much) of course only peacefully. I don't want another revolution, and I don't want a fucking western country telling us what to do and what's good for us. we already had that 60 years ago when they toppled the democratic elected prime minister to keep their puppet "Shah" on power. that leaded us to this current disaster. the only way for positive change is to educate people and then again educate people. and that's not possible with bans , suspensions and sanctions. people don't improve their "culture" when they have to worry about food, medicines etc. I just hate when media exaggerate about things. most of these news are only half correct. I can give you detailed answers about every single matter. but I think that's pointless because you don't listen. so I make it as short as possible. The Asian Volleyball Championship is happening in Iran right now and women are allowed to go the stadium. do I have to show you some pictures ? I can do that if you don't believe me. and it happened in other sports like basketball. handball. but yes in sports where men are half naked (or whatever they call it) like wrestling, swimming etc women are NOT allowed. football is a different matter. I explained it in details somewhere else. our football NT captain Masoud Shojaei expressed his idea about women should be allowed something like 1000 times. even in front of the president, yeah hardliners hate him and their media use every single opportunity to attack him but he is still our NT captain. nobody "punished" him. he even played against an Israeli club in Europa league. I don't know what do you mean by "athletes are punished" ? punished for what exactly ?? 6 of our NT players had "Green Wristband" in 2009 in crucial WCQ match vs South Korea to support the green movement. one of them was Shojaei and he is still playing for the NT. the rest are retired and coaching in the league. nothing happened to them (actually that was the real bravery and people never forget those 6 players, at least I won't) and about the gay people. I told you before. nobody is killed in Iran only for being gay. in Iran they simply prefer to ignore it. because they don't want to accept there are gay people. they are not trying to track and find gay people. no at all. yes there is death penalty for sexual intercourse between two men (and even not for two women) but for proving that the judge needs 4 adult person to confirms it ! I'm sure nobody invites 4 guys to his bedroom. this is simply a rule to scare people from making it to the public. and if you come to Iran and tell people you are gay. half of them don't care, probably 30% will be curious and ask friendly questions about it. and 10-20% will not like you and stop the conversation. nobody is going to harm you for that. I'm sure about it. absolutely nobody. even those fanatic stupid Islamists. they always say this is a disease not a crime. (I know this is still bad, I'm just explaining the situation) things are not simply black and white. and Iran is not North Korea. (and I'm starting to think maybe even North Korea is not that bad, I learned to not trust the western media )

2017 Islamic Solidarity Games ? I have them all
-
that's the point. it only gifted some easy medals to Israel. but there is simply no solution for that. it's not like they can let it happen in 1 sport , simply impossible the best they can get from Iran is forcing Iran to not making it to public and don't use it for propaganda. and they already have that. in past 10 years Iran never brags about this. they always made other excuse for avoiding Israel. while for example 20 years ago they were proudly announcing they are withdrawing because of Israel. Iran with this person on top is not going to give anything more about this matter. I lost hope on that long time ago. and the idea of Iranian athletes participating under IOC flag is even more impossible. Iran won't let that happen and beside that I assume 80% of athletes don't want to participate under anything but the Iranian flag. Mollaei was unique and I believe he will regret it later in his life. specially if he continues to give interviews like this . he still did nothing wrong per law but he is crossing the line and if he does that he can never come back to Iran again. he probably thinks he doesn't need that because he has a "life" in Germany but I know people who did such things and 10 years later they regret it big time.
-
this is amazing for me how people have absolutely no clue about Iran and how things work here. this is not "managers of our sports federation" decision. this is coming all the way from the top. I'm quite sure the sport minister himself will be more than happy to let them participate. not because he cares about Israel (nobody does) he cares about the athletes who tried hard for months and has to withdraw for some stupid politics. but nobody can do anything about it. Iran is not going to give up for much more important things, we are going into a war if you follow the news (not that we are not in a war already) sport ban will change a thing ? are you kidding me. and this is kind of funny because Iranians are already punishing themselves with this. I see no reason for more, because with this you are punishing the innocents. when Iran was banned for 5 years in wheelchair basketball. that affected badly some of Iranian players who were pro in Italy and Turkey. I know two them and their lives were ruined because of that. (there is no pro league in Iran and it's hard to find a job for someone on the wheelchair) did that changed the policy of Iran ? no. only someone else paid the price. you are free to cheer to whoever you wants. but first women can watch most of the sports here. (that's for football and some others) , second this is ridiculous and crazy, and third most of the Iranian national athletes (if not all) are against it and most of them never stopped to blame this stupid rule in public . on TV, anywhere they could. unless the Israel matter (which is not going to change anytime soon), this is going to change soon (because people here are fighting for it) specially if the rest of world don't interfere in our own matters. this is not anybody else's business.
