  1. First of all, he changed nationality during the war and makes him hypocrite a lot, because he talked a big game about how he loves Ukraine, yet he failed to attend the meeting with our president and during the photoshoot it was embarasing, because all of the medalists from Paris were with warriors in frame while Kovtun was absent and they just place in the frame his photo, what looks extremely cringey. Second of all, he insulted us, saying that in Osijek there was more support for him, what is complete bullshit, because in Ukraine more people watched Olympics than Croatian population, so that's a complete lie. Third of all, he is highly dependent on his coach Iryna Gorbacheva (Nadiuk), who just wanted a passport of European country. Yes, our federation is a dumb mess and all of them should be fired, but Kovtun's decision was personal betrayal of Ukraine, and trust me, as Ukrainians we know much more than all of this forum users, because we knew about this news for 8 months now and we know much more than all of the Croatians or other nations representatives just because Nadiuk lied in our faces a lot and Kovtun just followed her after the Olympics. So yeah, he received rightful amount of hate and needed to be accountable, he is not a child anymore
  2. Is the last sentence about Ukraine? If yes, then you are wrong, because we knew this information from the end of 2024 and it was the #1 topic in Ukrainian news for a while, Kovtun received a lot of hate and deleted all of his posts, related to Ukraine
  3. They already existed in the programme
  4. Same with our world record holder in 50 m fly Govorov, who announced to comeback but then quickly changed his mind and retired for that bs
  5. Spoiler alert: the biggest reciepient of cheating accusation is Tommy Cash, because his voice is ugly and autotuned, so he sings horribly during all of the season
  6. Absolutely not, Slovenia made huge mistake when it selected Klemen over July Jones, and they paid for it, dumb choice, boring song, empty staging equals non-qualify, kisses
  7. Really good day for Ukraine, but unfortunately our leader Andrii Zaplitnyi underperformed
  8. No, fencing become more interesting than before, now we can see more attacks than just boring 1 minute passive boughts and everyone has a chance to perform good in the fencing despite of the failed ranking round
  9. Did somebody even wondering that russians violate rules in judo multiple times, considering how Dolgova try to break Bilodid's arm during Europeans 2021 after 'mate'?
  10. Absolutely, there was at first all-around with 3 disciplines, where lead/boulder specialists were favorites, then it was replaced by Lead+Boulder combined, where lead specialists was favorites because of greater gaps that can be achieved in lead climbing, and now these are separate disciplines where it depends only on what each climber could do best (or who is Janja Garnbret who will win 2 golds)
  11. No worries, they would be absolutely fine in Beijing and I am glad that Gubanova fell, so much more deserving person like Meda qualified
  12. I get it, I originally thought that Worlds is the main competition and when you don't confirm your additional quota from WCh in Beijing it will be reallocated to next in the line at the Qualifier
  13. Why? In the qualification system it said that you can achieve 2 quota places with 1 athlete, but you need to confirm your quota place in the Beijing. After WCh you can have 2 quotas and if you can't confirm then 1 quota will be reallocated at the Qualifier
  14. In Lviv, as far as I know she shared the same coach with our London-2012 Olympic champion Yana Shemyakina
  15. 17 y.o Anna Maksymenko won a gold medal in this week Grand Prix. It's her first individual medal and second general at the senior WC/GP level, and I believe she may be one of the youngest winners in history
  16. Fantastic Euro from Doroshchuk, gold at 2.34 with all clear rounds
  17. Idk if that's actually true, but in volleyball there are a sort of established system of qualification to LA, where Top-3 from WCh, continental champions and top-3 from World Rankings will participate at the next Olympics
  18. Hell no, our home track is Sigulda, and our only track is wooden and located in the small city of Kremenets. And despite that we had 2x 4th place from our skeletonist Vladyslav Heraskevych and bronze in luge team relay
  19. In relay yes, but we have 8 more from our legend Natalya Yakushenko back in 2008 and earlier
  20. Shemyakina won a bronze medal in 2014 Worlds and was one of our leader but leave the squad due to pregnancy (she has 2 daughters if I'm not mistaking, so she chose family instead of sport). And speaking of foil we have back in the day Sergiy Golubitskyi, who was Olympic silver medalist and won some medals in other competitions and coached his wife Caroline Golubitskyi - one of the German foil specialists. Even in women's foil we had medal in Women's foil at the European championship - it was Olha Leleiko, our current national coach. So no, we are pretty good fencing country, and depending on generations of our athletes some events are more "profitable" for us and some don't.
  21. No, our epee was good always, we have Shemyakina, who was Olympic Champion in 2012, Reizlin with bronze in 2020, medalists of Worlds like Kryvytska (who is our finisher today), Svichkar (who is our finisher in men's side) and Stankevych, European champion Kharkova, medals in other conpetitions from men's team epee who were one of the main contenders in Tokyo, but unfortunately failed to take a medal.
  22. Ukraine twice in one day defeated Italy and France, like what the heck?
  23. Myroniuk trained in the USA (that's why she is European vice champion), others I assume trained in Ukraine
  24. Ukraine defeated Hungary, Italy and France and first time in the history of our fencing is in FINAL
  25. Anastasiia Harnyk won all of her bouts in less than a minute and take gold for Ukraine in judo
