  2. Even when we are only playing for the 5th place, we still can't beat Serbia.
  3. Five-time Olympic champion Ágnes Keleti (Gymnastics, 1952, 1956) celebrates her 100th birthday today. She's the oldest living Olympic champion and Olympic medalist.
  4. What an embarrassment. One of the leading nations of the world couldn't protect their capitol building from a modest sized crowd. China and Russia must be having a field day with this. It reminds me of how the police wasn't able to protect the National TV in Hungary in 2006. But at least it was "just" the National TV, not literally the most important building in the country, the Parliament.
  5. A lot of people felt it in Hungary as well.
  6. I have listened to most of the songs that are in the Hungarian song contest and man, I am glad we aren't in ESC, because I don't like any of them. This is going to make the TISC Annual song selection even harder for me.
  7. Uh, forgot to clarify earlier that these are my opinions. I just thought that I share it before we get the official ones, who will be announced on January 11th. I wouldn't be surprised if they pick similarly because there aren't many options.
  8. Sportsman: Dominik Szoboszlai, football - huge year for him at Salzburg, signed for Leipzig, scored the winning goal against Iceland Sportswoman: Tímea Babos, tennis - won the Australian Open and the French Open in Women's doubles with Mladenovic Team: Hungarian national football team - qualified for EURO 2020, promotion to the highest division in Nations League Honorable mention to the Hungarian women's table tennis team, they qualified for Tokyo 2020 without any Chinese players. Also, another HM to Ferencváros who qualified for the football Champions League Group Stage.
  9. I just don't understand what's going on with Hungarian handball. I got my hopes up with the success of the junior teams that we might be entering a new era after the the disastrous 2010s, but the last WCh and now this ECh are just the same shit that we have seen for a decade.
  10. First game of our team that I have watched recently, and yep, the Hungarian women's handball team is still one of the biggest disappointments of the entire Hungarian sport. A crazy amount of money has been spent here for this sport in the last decade, and yet here we are, constantly struggling to get any decent results.
  11. Okay, did anyone predict that Croatia will win all their matches in that group? Well, this made our job quite easy, we will qualify as long as Netherlands won't beat us by more than 21 goals. But obviously we have eliminate the Netherlands if we want to have a good ECh.
  12. So how does this 90 minutes long pentathlon actually work? Do we have any details on this format other than the length of the events and their order?
  13. I would support it, but only if they get these guys as the official commentators.
  14. Looking at how late they are with the inclusion of the extreme sports, I can't wait when they include Tetris as an Olympic event 20 years later.
  15. Sprint canoe only having 10 events will be weird. I have never liked the 200m events all that much so I am not sad about them going away, but I still don't get why K4 500m has to be a thing instead of the usual K4 1000m. For the love of God, change it back!
  16. If they want to reduce the number of the athletes so much, why the fuck has the men's football event still 16 teams?
  17. Budapest will host the 2024 Chess Olympiad. First time ever for Hungary, which is kinda surprising considering that we are one of the most successful nations of this event.
  18. Croatia beat the Netherlands and qualified for the next round. I guess it's our job now to send the World Champions home. It won't be easy.
  19. Well, this is getting interesting. We lost against Croatia, and then we destroyed Serbia, the team that beat the Netherlands.
  20. I am a bit sad that it's not Hülkenberg, but Russell going from the worst car to the best is fun.
  21. Not the first time one of our great right-wing politicians participated in a sex party. Everyone needs to have a little bit of fun sometimes.
  22. This is exactly why we shouldn't have these competitions when everyone is getting infected. The Hungarian basketball team was just ejected from its bubble a few days ago because we didn't have enough players left to play matches. I get why sport clubs are still playing national leagues during these times, but mixing players with NTs is just a ridiculous idea no matter how much they try to protect the teams, and it's going to create some bizarre results if EHF and all the teams won't get incredibly lucky in the next few weeks.
  23. I just saw the incident. Massive kudos to all the people who pushed for safety regulations over the decades, they definitely saved a driver today.
  24. No idea, I didn't pay that close attention to Hungarian handball lately. All I know is that we won the friendly against Sweden yesterday.
