  1. Is there still no option to make the website list the events in chronological order instead of them being grouped by disciplines? I just don't understand how this isn't a feature if it really isn't there. In the official Tokyo2020 app the events are actually listed in chronological order so it isn't some impossible task to implement. The schedule in Tokyo2020 app is way better than on the website, do they seriously give zero shit about their desktop users?
  2. Most of the news from the Games have been depressing, but at least we got this hilarious CNN headline: Irish gymnast jumps on Olympic Village cardboard bed to debunk 'anti-sex fake news' https://edition.cnn.com/2021/07/19/sport/athletes-arrive-olympic-village-sex-beds-spt-intl/index.html Here's the tweet in case anyone missed it:
  3. Attila Valter is enjoying the scenery before the Cycling road race.
  4. LOL, it's like that projection was made by a Hungarian. Best case scenario for us.
  5. We have our Hungarian Watergate now: https://www.theguardian.com/news/2021/jul/18/viktor-orban-using-nso-spyware-in-assault-on-media-data-suggests This can actually be a pretty big scandal, even Snowden mentioned it. I am not sure if it will hurt Orbán's reelection chances, but it certainly won't help him. The opposition needed this to stay united against their "enemy".
  6. I think there's no way that we wouldn't already know if it's Biles. It would be a leading news everywhere.
  7. Fuck, why are NOCs not boycotting the Parade of Nations? With the amount of positive cases we are getting, they shouldn't risk it. I will be so angry if one of the Hungarians tests positive after they attended the OC.
  8. And so with this and last few news the real shitstorm starts. It won't be a legit Olympic Games if COVID takes out favorites.
  9. If this is the beginning of sponsors pulling out... IOC is in deep shit. Toyota Cancels Tokyo Olympics TV Ads, CEO Won’t Attend Opening Ceremony: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/business/business-news/toyota-cancels-tokyo-olympics-ads-wont-attend-opening-ceremony-1234984353/
  10. I find it really surprising that even the US didn't make it mandatory for their team. How many nations actually did, can't be the only one.
  11. I mean, I am not against having a shorter artistic section, for example I rewatched Sydney 2000 and I know many people loved it, but it went on for sooo long. The only issue is that Rio already had a shorter artistic section than Beijing and London, but the ceremony was still really long because for some reason the arriving athletes had a slow pace and PoN was longer than usual, and then the speeches were long as fuck... and then they had one more additional speech with that new IOC award. Make the entire ceremony shorter if they want to save costs, not just the one interesting part, otherwise you are watching a 4 hours long show with about 40 minutes of unique, interesting content.
  12. Hm, so this OC will have one of the shortest artistic sections? I rewatched all the recent Summer OCs and I think only Athens started the Parade of Nations half an hour into the ceremony.
  13. The recent track record for in these women's U events: 2018 - Silver - Youth World 2018 - Gold - Junior World 2019 - Gold - U17 Euro 2019 - Gold - U19 Euro 2021 - Gold - U19 Euro There are some serious issues with Hungarian handball if after these results we will still have a mediocre adult team by 2024.
  14. One more relatively easy Junior European Championship gold for Hungary in women's handball, just like in 2019. We have been sweeping these junior and youth events lately. At some point we have to deliver similar results in the adult competitions with these supposedly very talented generations, right? RIGHT?
  15. Well, if there's an (air) bubble in your heart, you don't have to worry about COVID anymore. Because you are dead.
  16. So the media doesn't have to stay inside any bubble? For some reason I thought that the Japanese will have very strict rules for any foreigners who will attend events but I just saw that the "official Hungarian Olympic vloggers" are inside the Tokyo crowd like everything is normal and they will later talk to athletes and be inside the Olympic venues. I mean, if they get to attend AND also run around Tokyo, why the fuck are vaccinated Japanese fans not allowed inside the venues?
  17. Well, I will inform you if we will somehow send someone else, but yeah, this will likely be too late for both Hungarians and anyone else to fill that spot.
  18. I am pretty sure we literally don't have anyone else to send in women's Slalom C1 even if we have the opportunity.
  19. HOC didn't give a clear reason but I doubt that she didn't have the opportunity to vaccinate. And the funniest thing about this is that she's the one Hungarian athlete in the team from a Western country, you would think that something like this would be more likely to happen with our Russian wrestlers, not with an Austrian slalom canoeist.
  20. So what happens if they can't reallocate? Technically we keep the quota and Schmid will be a DNS?
  21. She was the first Hungarian athlete to arrive in Tokyo. The Hungarian Olympic Committee made their decision to make the vaccine mandatory for everyone after she already started training there. I guess HOC told her that there isn't a third option, she either takes the vaccine or goes home, and choose the latter.
  22. Schmid Júlia nem akarta beoltani magát, ezért nem lesz ott Tokióban. Ezzel oda az első magyar szlalom kajak-kenu kvóta. 23. -1 Canoe Slalom After the Hungarian Olympic Committee announced that our delegation members have to vaccinate themselves, Julia Schmid (women's C1) decided to withdraw from Tokyo2020 instead of taking the vaccine. Maybe @hckošice can tell us which nation will get the quota.
  24. Well, I counted all the Olympic Eurosport Player streams for Day 1 (excluding the ES1 and ES2 streams). There are 228 live streams listed for Day 1.
