  1. Yeah, false positives are going to happen when so many tests are being taken each day. It's like lottery and the winners' prize is a DNS at the Games if the false positive is right before the competition. They should take more one test from athletes who compete the next day and let them compete if only one of their test is positive.
  2. I don't want any of these two teams to win at this point. This might be the worst EURO/WorldCup final I have seen and that's saying something.
  3. hasn't played well since the first half of their QF against Belgium. It's like they are out of juice. England is incredibly lucky, there isn't a single team who played their best against them at this tournament with maybe the exception of Scotland, they are kind of winning this EURO by default as the only top tier team who aren't a disappointment.
  4. People are really going insane over this match, I hope nothing awful happens today.
  5. I also kinda hope that we will boycott the opening ceremony or only send the flag bearers. It's just not the worth the risk. If the number of positive cases among arriving delegation members continues to increase, IOC should considering having a virtual Parade of Nations, we shouldn't lose athletes because of the ceremony.
  6. The Hungarian Olympic Committee voted in favor that every delegation member has to be vaccinated or have natural immunity from COVID. This doesn't change much as out of the 363 Hungarian delegations members only 3 aren't vaccinated or have natural immunity. In light of recent news from Tokyo the Hungarian Olympic Committee wants to make it sure that none of us will be quarantined as they already see that a positive test or even contact with someone who had a positive test means game over, without much of chance for an appeal. It's clear that many Olympic medals can be won or lost based on which nations can protect their athletes from COVID.
  7. I had to turn off the TV at 4-0. I haven't watched women's tennis lately and I hope this doesn't represent its current quality, because what I saw was unwatchable and beyond terrible.
  8. Most of our athletes will arrive on July 16 (our water polo and handball teams, wrestlers and judokas) The firs Hungarian athlete, Julia Schmid (Canoe Slalom) arrived on July 7. The first couple of Hungarian swimmers arrived the next day, including Katinka Hosszú.
  9. People all over the internet did the same thing regarding Hosszú in Rio, I remember how Americans were saying online after the 200 back final that "DiRado beat the doper". Innocent until proven guilty.
  10. They really should start with the Parade of Nations this time, that way athletes can enjoy the show and provide some much needed atmosphere inside the venue.
  11. Well, there you have it, a few people break the rules and now we won't play 2 or 3 matches in front of a crowd. I wonder if they will do the same thing with England after a stupid asshole tried to blind Schmeichel. Or maybe, just maybe, it's not a good idea to punish everyone for what a couple of individuals did.
  12. Two more COVID cases among the arriving teams. An athlete from and a delegation member from . This means that we are at 5 cases, we had two from and one from previously.
  13. @Benolympique I think you can move to the official list. 169 athletes and 7 reserves (which is why Hungarian sources tend to say 176), we aren't waiting for anyone. There might be a small chance that someone gets injured and our number will change, other than that I can't see anyone else qualifying.
  14. We have played a match against Montenegro and will play two more against Brazil to prepare for the Games. We beat Montenegro surprisingly easily, not sure what to make of that match. v 28-22
  15. We had two matches against Canada to prepare for the Games. v 9-9 v 13-7
  16. Maybe FINA didn't release the list of OST qualifiers because nobody qualified with OSTs.
  17. Considering that none of the 4 Hungarian OST swimmers qualified, I think the number of OST qualifiers might be really small.
  18. Okay, that makes sense, I thought that this was about changing the ES International feed by nation. I haven't paid much attention to Eurosport for more than a decade now, the British Eurosport is the only national version that I remember being a thing during the "old days".
  19. Wait, the Eurosport schedule varies by country? That definitely hasn't been the case for the Olympics. Or maybe it is for the bigger European nations? They never showed Hungarian events on the Hungarian Eurosport, unless it was one of the most watched sports for neutrals, like swimming. I always assumed that ES1 has the same schedule everywhere, while ES2 sometimes varies based on regional TV rights (which is why we only have Wimbledon on ES2 in Hungary as ES1 can't show it).
  20. This is why we have Eurosport Player. Hopefully it will work.
  21. Hey, at least the golf organizers won't have to deal with this kind of nonsense for one Games.
  22. Japan is taking a big L on this one in many ways, it's certainly a bad look that this is where they are with COVID while Europe is having an EURO 2020 with a lot of fans. But as long as there isn't a big COVID outbreak among the athletes, this is going to be a more legit Games than 1980 and 1984 in terms of results. So yeah, if Japan doesn't mess it up (even more), I think it's going to be fine and we will still get many memorable moments.
  23. Doubt it, the athletes are already used to these circumstances. An Olympic gold doesn't lose its value if there are no spectators.
  24. So it's officially going to be the "silent Olympics". I hope they will find some ways for the audience to interact with the athletes. I liked it a lot when the winners at the Aquatics ECh got to see a short clip of their family members after their finals. They will need gimmicks like that at the Games to make it feel less depressing.
  25. I think the result itself is deserved, just not like how it went down with that "pen". England was clearly the better team for the second 60 minutes of the match once Denmark sabotaged itself with those subs. One way or another England would have scored anyway during the extra time. v seems to be about right for this tournament, the two most consistently solid teams of EURO 2020.
