  1. Fair play to , that was a nice submission. But that really sucked.
  2. drove the judoka's head on the mat and apparently that means is disqualified for a neck roll. World feed commentators thought it was a bad decision. I guess when you live by the DQ you die by the DQ. Very lame way to end a final, either way.
  3. Disqualified, second gold for (despite their best judoka losing in the first round)
  4. Canada finishing 4th is just such a proud tradition, it's kind of sad that judo doesn't respect that. (It was meant as a joke)
  5. Unfortunately Klimkait had to win the bronze since there is no 4th place in Judo, so that was the closest equivalent.
  6. Meh, I feel like when you have the world number 1 and 2 in an event coming away with the bronze is sort of a failure. TBH the selection policy from Judo Canada was insane and there are some people there who need to answer for it. I'm not really quibbling who they picked, but doing it based on the world championships a month and a half before the Olympics was absolutely stupid.
  7. Klimkait just gave away the match by doing too many false attacks. Unfortunate but the right decision.
  8. The DQ was completely legit. Klimkait basically just gave it away. This really sucks, but the ref did the right thing.
  9. Klimkait lost the semi-finals due to accumulating three shidos.
  10. Great fight between and . Very nice to see Tom Daley finally win an Olympic gold medal, it is very well deserved.
  11. This used to be the case, and is still the rule in taekwondo and wrestling, but that rule isn't used in judo anymore.
  12. Really didn’t expect Canada to be fourth in the men’s 4x100 free.
  13. I feel like this is a pretty good fourth. I mean sure a medal would have been nice, but just making the final was a massive win for Summer. A fourth is fantastic.
  14. Glad Peaty pulled it out. That must have been a ton of pressure.
  15. What a crazy performance from MacNeil. So happy given all the pressure she must have been under. In her interview with NBC she mentioned that she believes being in an outside lane helped her focus because she wasn't able to see her competitors at all.
  16. What a clutch race from MacNeil. I am speechless.
  17. This happens to be the first time the US finishes bellow Canada in any Olympic women's swimming relay (on the 43rd attempt), though there is an American on the Canadian team (Oleksiak).
  18. I think the atmosphere created by the not crowds is much better than expected. It is a lot less depressing than I expected. Also, I am really just grateful these Olympics are happening at all.
  19. Triathlon is a super high variance sport. There is really no use overthinking it as a spectator. Some days you win and some days you aren’t a factor.
  20. Very sad about this, I really wanted Gilmore to win gold
  21. Anna Kiesenhofer has 750 twitter followers.
  22. This is why the Dutch NOC doesn’t want athletes who aren’t in the top 12 of the world ranking in the Olympics.
  23. Who had this in the prediction contest?
  24. Big error for Canada in the softball game against Japan. They are in big trouble now - runners on the corners with one out, bottom of the seven. There was an easy double play available.
  25. Ryan's fairytale run is over.
