    Agreed. It also solves the pretty glaring gender equality issue of the current setup. Olympic baseball is whack too since it isn't best on best.

    This is so off brand for Canada given how bad we've historically been at team sports xD Canada has definitively been the third best softball team in the world over the past few years. This is a very deserved result.

    Wright narrowly wins the bronze medal on the men's side. As a result, North America, South America, Africa, Asia and Oceania all win Olympic medals in surfing's debut. I am pretty sure an Olympic sport where every continent except Europe wins a medal is unprecedented.
