  1. Argentina, Algeria.... Tough group!! I hope we can pass
  2. You are right, she was a big hit here, but not for the "Deixa ele sofrer" (don't even recall hearing that song), but for another one: "Show das Poderosas". I'm not really a fan of the song but have to admit it, it was a big party hit!!!
  3. I was just hearing this song now and.... isn't this from 2014? (i guess because the video is from june 2014) Is that "legal"?
  4. So sad to hear this... That was such a good song!! Oh well, at least I got to know the singer and have already add it to my playlist
  5. The Men's Masters (one of the most important championships and my favorite major) started today! Jason Day and Jordan Spieth (current champion) are probably the favorites to win, but all the best golfers in the world are playing so anyone can win!
  6. Korea is really strong in the women's golf, I don't think they will fail on sending a full 4 players team to Rio And besides being the youngest two-time major winner in LPGA, she's the youngest double major winner in Golf (male and female) in 147 years!!! (Previously winner was Young Tom Morris from Scotland, when he won British Open in 1868 and 1869)
  7. Lydia Ko is the first major winner on 2016! Regarding Olympic qualification, this results means nothing to the winner (she's number one ), but it brings some changes to the two runner-ups of this major: Charley Hull - climbs 16 (!!) ranking position and is now the 25th of the world; In Gee Chun - climbs only one position but overcomes her korean team-mate Amy Yang, which means she's in the top 4 korean AND in the olympic qualifying list Next stop: Men's Masters!!
  8. So ANA Inspiration is already on to the final day! Lexi Thompson is leading the tournament with -10 and will start the last pair with a surprising Ariya Jutanugarn (Thailand), which divides the 2nd position with world number 1 Lydia Ko and with world number 9 Inn Gee Chun (currently out of he olympics, she's the 5th Korean, but that would probably change with a good score on this major), all of them with -9. Then we have a lot of good players very close to the top, with -8 to -5, so anything can happen today! A great final day is expected for all Golf fans
  9. To all golf fans: the first LPGA Major of the year just started yesterday, ANA Inspiration (old Kraft Nabisco)
  10. So I took some time because this past year there was not that much good music released here Anyway, here you have it, a very portuguese music for this debut on the Annual Contest PORTUGAL Ana Moura - Dia de Folga Lyrics Manhã na minha ruela, sol pela janela O Sr. jeitoso dá tréguas ao berbequim O galo descansa, ri-se a criança Hoje não há birras, a tudo diz que sim O casal em guerra do segundo andar Fez as pazes, está lá fora a namorar Cada dia é um bico d’obra Uma carga de trabalhos, faz-nos falta renovar Baterias, há razões de sobra Para celebrarmos hoje com um fado que se empolga É dia de folga!
  11. I'm glad Portugal is not in, as usual my country sends only horrible songs (I think i liked 2 or 3 from the last 13 years) And about being allowed to vote, I don't think that really matters here anyway
  12. Ok, that's MUCH better!! Can't wait for the competition to start!
  13. So we have the first majors of the year coming up on the next weeks (Women's ANA Inspiration - old Kraft Nabisco- next week, and men's Masters on the week after), should the discussion be keeped on this thread or should we create a new one for this "big" competitions?
  14. Well, Bulgarian is a "not bad" song for me, but I like the Malta entry! Still, my favourite this year is without doubt the Croatian song
  15. Horrible news!! I have colleagues from my company living next to the Maalbeek station and they're really scared! This is a sad time for europe...
  16. Ok, I just finish listening to all songs (all the ones I could find available, couldn't find the Bulgaria and Malta song ), and personally I find this year's songs terrible... Some of the musics are not bad, but most of them I don't like it. I did really loved the Australian and Croatian songs though! Hope they make it to a good place this year
  17. Great!! As a totallympics user that joined only last year and missed all the previous editions, you're just giving me a full set of new music from around the world to listen in the next weeks
  18. And about "no posting", I thing that's proportional to the sport events happening and the interest of the users. In my case, for instance, this year's beggining my only interest was - apart from football in my country's national league and in champions league - in Track Worlds, and the next one in my watch list are the Golf's majors in April (in women and men), so I have nothing to say I expect though that starting this Summer, and with the Olympics getting closer, more activity from everyone will happen
  19. I honestly don't see a problem For the song contests, I think is normal for the long waits, due to: trying to reach the maximum number of participants (not eveyone is here all the time); giving time for choosing a song to send (this will take time depending on your available time for it, and on the number of jurys your nation has because you have to reach some agreement); giving time for listening to ALL the songs; to allow the host to organize everything. I have only been in the previous contest, but I prefer a long wait and then have such a well organized event!
  20. Oh, and btw, great to hear that there is a Golf thread. The next sport's big competition in my watchlist is a Golf one: Masters!!
  21. Great news! Didn't know we had a Portuguese golf that might qualify for olympics!
  22. Ahhh, great to hear TISC is back!! Didn't expect it to return this soon Portugal is in of course!! P.S - Forgot to mention, I'll be in US during the TISC final, and won't probably have neither time or net to follow the final and to vote, so - if I happen to be the only portuguese jury - i would have to hand my votes to the host probably
