  1. Yes, my point was, for a nation with 100 athletes I would expect to see at least half of the building in red, not just a few hidden flags
  2. There you go, Portugal+Slovenia building just got some new neighbours.... (Azerbaijan, Nigeria, Gabon.... maybe Mali? and I see a turkish flag but it's only one, I expect Turkey's delegation to be huge so I don't know what that is)
  3. How can we share here the instagram pictures as you usually do? I would like to share a new one I just saw that shows a new neighbour for Portugal+Slovenia building: Azerbaijan
  4. So sad that your country (which is younger than me) has almost two times the number of gold medals of my 900 year old nation (we have only 4....) and we participate in the Olympics since 1912.... Only if we weren't a football-only country....
  5. This is very interesting and I really value Olympic glory, but you can't buy your house or pay for your children's school with Olympic glory, so I have to ask: how do the GB athletes earn their money/salary? (isn't it somewhat related with their achievements? like if A is better than B, then A will receive a greater salary than B?)
  6. Portugal Gold - 40.000€ Silver - 25.000€ Bronze - 17.500€
  7. I'm a bit confused, what kind of website are you expecting to be released today?
  8. Judo, Shooting and yes, table tennis Several athletes went already to Rio during this past week, but today was the "Portuguese delegation departure", with the remaining athletes and the NOC President and staff as well. By the way, this is our full table tennis team
  9. Finally I get to know some neighbours of ours! Finland and Denmark? Cool! I wonder who is with us in our building....
  10. Apparently the Portuguese's (mens) football team is currently training outside Rio, together with the... Swedish female football team Let's hope they don't get too distracted!
  11. Ok, I recount the points and apparently I had only put 399. So, fixed! Thanks for the warning
  12. Actually you should, it's been a great way of reporting the real reactions of the athletes in the Olympic Village, and without that I only have the bad news that my national press publish about Rio (like the last one which says that a group of protesters stole the Olympic Flame....)
  13. hahahahahaha! About victory ceremonies, it depends... We are a nation with no olympic medals, so when get one, specially when we get a Gold one (only 4 in our entire history) we celebrate it as if we have reached the Moon!!
  14. How come is everyone facing this issues in the Olympic Village? Is this common every olympics? I mean, after so many years to prepare the accommodations, how can it be that the apartments aren't ready??
  15. ONE medal!!! (in Canoe Sprint, Taekwondo, Judo or Football) Maybe two if I'm to be really optimistic here, but I would gladly change that second medal for a single GOLD medal!
  16. And of course our national press are already taking advantage of this situations for some "loved" sensationalist news:
  17. Oooooooh of course! (hadn't even noticed the other flags haha ) I wonder who our team's neighbours are then... if slovaks are with czechs, maybe our "dear brothers" spanish are in our building?
  18. Hey look, Portugal's flag!! (Does this means our team is close to yours? )
  19. So the Portuguese delegation has also arrived to the Olympic Village! They are happy with the location, but - just like every other nation I think - were a bit chocked with the conditions they faced there: dirty apartments, some of them with no water or gas problems, and with plumbing problems.... They also say, however, that the situation has been reported and they're told that it will be fixed soon Atletas Portugueses Encontram Apartamentos Sujos e sem Água
  20. Portugal's NOC rejects any concrete goal regarding the number of expected medals at Rio 2016. The official NOC goal was to qualify more than 76 athletes (our athletes at London 2012), and that goal has been achieved, Nevertheless, our press states that, despite not saying it in public, the expected goal should be one medal, with an excelent scenario to be leaving Rio with two medals.
  21. Happy for the World Cup qualification, but I'm sad to see them loosing that bad after a good start in the match. Still, semi-finals is great achievement, and France totally deserved the win Congrats to them, and may the best win next Sunday!
  22. Well, I keep talking about and inviting people I know to join/take a look at Totallympics, but i find it really difficult on a "Football-only" country such as my one..
  23. This would be great but I'm not sure that the national tv channels - that acquire the expensive broadcast rights - would be happy with that... Here our national public tv channel (RTP) will broadcast some of the sports (usually it's available on their stream player, RTP PLAY), but the full 24/7 live sports broadcaster is a paid tv channel, SPORT TV, which I guess would loose a lot of ratings if their shown content were available on youtube....
