  1. Here we have two channels (one public, other a paid channel) that both advertise they have the "exclusive rights for the olympics" and that they'll have "exclusive channels dedicated to Rio 2016". So, I don't know yet what's gonna be broadcasted, but with dedicated olympic tv channels i'm hoping to see a lot of events
  2. Really? So what do the federations pay? Brazil pays everything???
  3. I have a question, which I allways had, and maybe some of you can explain me this: athletes on the Olympics stay in the Olympic Village right? And who pays that? I mean, are every country's federations paying Brazil (or IOC, or someone) for each player that will stay accomodated in the village?
  4. This was amazing! The European Champs were unfortunately kind of underrated here because of the Euro 2016 in football, but the portuguese did an amazing result! 3 golds in total (!!!!!!!) and 3 medals on Olympic events (including 1 Gold!!), it really is incredible!!! (in 2014 I think we only got a medal, a bronze one) In fact, it was so great that the whole athletic team was received at the airport wih a big celebration singing our national anthem:
  5. Last day was almost national holiday, big celebrations around Lisbon, really great!! Here's a final picture, one of our own most iconic monuments (Torre de Belém) iluminated with the colors of our national flag (something that the Frenchs should have done in Paris after the final in the Eiffel tower, but apparently they did not hahaha ) And lastly, I'll put here our national chant during the Euro, just because its pretty funny, and because we all (crowd AND players) sang it yesterday for hours in the celebration "Pouco importa, pouco importa, se jogámos bem ou mal, vamos é levar a taça para o nosso Portugal" (translation) "It doesn't matter, It doesn't matter, If we played good or bad, We're just gonna take the cup to our own Portugal!"
  6. The celebration in Belem (Lisboa) filmed by Ronaldo! (and I was there in the middle of the crowd hahaha)
  7. Our National Team with our President holding the European Cup on the President's palace: a historic photo!!
  8. UEFA EURO 2016 Player of the Tournament - Antoine Griezmann
  9. Yeah you're probably right. Nevertheless, I stand with my words: awesome work!
  10. And to end my "Euro spam" here for now, I'll leave a great short video of the very best of Football
  11. And now some images of the actual celebration!!! Today our President will receive the players (and the cup!!!!) in Lisbon, I predict some more celebrations today here!l!
  12. So here are some of the Portuguese newspaper covers from today, I think you can imagine how my nation is feeling right now
  13. It depends on the perspective: in my opinion the 2004 edition was the worst EURO ever hahaha (actually it wasn't, I had an awesome time with my country organizing it, but the end.... That made it the worst Euro ever for me )
  14. And he cried again, but this time of happiness!! He'll get a national statue in Lisbon that's for sure!
  15. Eder is (or was) the most hated player in Portugal. He is called the worst player ever, and people call him the "-1 player". And yet he scored the goal that gave Portugal the award we never dream we would win!! He NEVER scores, he is useless all the time, and then he scores on an Euro Final!!!! (in fact you can see the picture jokes they made with him before the final:
  16. Oh I totally forgot that!! so we're also going to the confederations cup!!!! AWESOME!!!!!!
  17. I understand, I would probably care as well if my nation hadn't win the cup
  18. Yes you are right. But who cares, We are European Champions!!!!!! Holy ***!!!!!!
  19. PORTUGAL!!!!!!!!!! WITHOUT RONALDO!!!!! CONSEGUIMOS C*RALHO!!!!!!!!
  20. Here's my nation commentator: "I honestly don't know how have we managed to go to the 70 minute without suffering a goal!" this summarizes pretty well the match....
  21. Didnt knew this. So I guess it's a well known French tactic, to injury out their opponents best players? I blame my coach now then, he should have been aware of those tactics and protect Ronaldo with some kind of special equipment haha
