    You'd be amazed how often that 1976 final gets repeated on Polish TV. It remains one of only two Olympic gold medals in team sports for Poland (football (soccer) 1972 is the other but we rarely get to see that anymore since 1974 World Cup matches are repeated more often instead).

    has won an Olympic medal in women's K2 500m in SIX straight Olympics. That must be our record for a single specific event. We have won 21 medals in sprint canoeing in OG history but still no gold (8 silver, 13 bronze)

    Yes, but Asher-Smith's presence makes you a medal contender. Funnily enough the British 800m women got hot only after Semenya got banned (Muir's lack of sprint finish doesn't make her a medal threat at 800m global champs IMO).

    Yes, unlike 800 the 200 is one event where you can upset all three powerhouses at the same time (USA, GBR and Jamaica). That might be too much to overcome.

    If WA allows Mboma to compete in Paris, she will break FGJ WR there 100%. She would have beaten Marita Koch's 400m too if only allowed. This is where Semenya played it smart. She was just slow enough not to threaten Kratochvilova's WR hence she was allowed to keep her London & Rio medals.
