Poll 71/100 | Which 3 cities do you think are the best for holding the Summer Olympic Games?

Sydney, Beijing, London.

I prefer to give me chance for emerging economies. Just like Tokyo 1964, Seoul 1988 and Beijing 2008. Olympics play a important role for economy taking off and national confidence. I know Rio 2016 made fans somehow untrusted to emerging economies, still I would like to see more developing countries involved in hosting. India and Indonesia have big potential in 20 years.

I will have a personal list for potential cities:

Jakarta, Mumbai, Istanbul

I think by the time Jakarta managed to win a hosting right, half of the city would be under sea level (unless those luxurious housing on man-made islands not far from where I live has finished; we can host the Games there)

Buy a house in new Kalimantan capital in advance then.:d

Islamabad, Havana, Pyongyang

If the lights light up exactly at the correct moment, he was definitely first, since his light went on first. Not sure if those lights are 100% accurate though?

Nice list ...

Why not Caracas, Aleppo, Detroit?

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

    • One has already been approved under the new rules.
    • There is a transgender volleyball player here in Brazil; there was even a recent controversy (this year) when a city banned her from playing in a certain competition, which ended up in court, ultimately in her favor.   But the situation is much simpler than that; the reason for this decision is because of the two female boxers who won at Paris 2024 (who apparently are not transgender).

    • there were rumors about it for quite a while, but as I wrote, it was never confirmed so, it might well be just some haters throwing out some shit on her 🤷
    • Where did you get that?   I'm not sure I would have considered her to have dissapeared from out of nowhere, at least since after Tokyo... she did win medals at the next two World Championships. I think it's just recently, she's been struggling with injury which is why she's completely out of form...
    • Even though I'm not the biggest fan of her, always sucks to see a career ending through injury and not on your own terms
    • This is going to have an effect on very likely 0 athletes, possibly 1 or 2 we don't really know about yet. It's really mostly the cheapest possible way for them to make a sort of political statement, without having any significant backlash since it won't really affect anyone at the top level of international sports.   Edit: worded a bit wrong, I was thrown off by everywhere 'trans women' being mentioned as the target of this. Of course there is also the somewhat larger category of DSD and the likes, which will certainly affect a few athletes - unfortunately they are often thrown under the bus or mentioned as 'not really women anyway' or something like that, despite, you know, being.
