Hosts announced for few more of Olympic qualifiers, 3 candidates for European qualifier and also no host announced for Pan American (even though it seems that will be somewhere in USA)

Africa/Oceania: :MAR El Jadida

Europe: :SRB Zrenjanin or :ITA Rome or :AZE Baku

Asia: :CHN Xian

World Final Qualifier: :BUL Sofia

I'm glad China will host the Asian qualifier, not Uzbekistan or South Korea. at least less cheating. Kazakhstan hosting the main qualifier was already enough for the sake of "fair play"

or maybe they will just cancel Khadjiev's name from the list of qualified wrestlers through the world champs and then add an available spot at the world qualification tournament in Sofia...:mumble:

Still waiting for the B-sample and CAS appeal - it won't change anything, just give the UWW less time to make a solution (or maybe that would let them do anything as everything will be finished after qualifiers).

That's probably more "fair" because UWW's formula for ranking wrestlers from 7th to last is terrible.

but then the Qualification rule says "Top 6" qualify, and he is top 6 now. so I assume he should get the quota.

UWW won't wait for CAS decision, they will make the changes after the B sample and official disqualification.

back in 2016 when CAS overturned some decisions, they added all those wrestlers to the list again (without removing anybody) and we had few extra wrestlers in Rio.

but I wonder if Khadjiev is the only positive doping result from 2019 Worlds, :mumble:

    • really sad when you win a olympic medal 3 years later and no one cares Of course it will be registered and so on, but all those moments of joy etc are gone. Yes its first Croatian wrestling medal since independence, but there was a medal won for Yugoslavia by Croatian.

    • Surely they will unless I am missing something.
    • So, will they appeal to CAS like in Sinner case?
    • https://www.skysports.com/tennis/news/12110/13262332/iga-swiatek-five-time-grand-slam-champion-accepts-one-month-suspension-in-doping-case Cwnt see WADA not overturning this. One month for a banned substance is very low even for accidental consumption. I’ve only ever heard that short for something banned only in Competition and therefore not seen as fully doping. .
    • big big news regarding Olympic bronze medalist and two time World Champion  Zurabi Datunashvili   https://ita.sport/news/the-ita-acknowledges-cas-add-decision-sanctioning-wrestler-zurabi-datunashvili-for-anti-doping-rule-violations/   to be honest everything was suspicious about this guy, his sudden improvement since 2021, his body, his sudden retirement in 2023 . its great to see him finally getting caught.   they will reallocate the medals later after the end of the process but his Olympic bronze will go to  Ivan Huklek, I think that will be the first ever wrestling medal for Croatia   his 2021 World title will go  Maskevich and the 2022 gold goes to  Bisultanov Bisultanov will benefit more than anybody else, he also gets a bronze from 2021 and  Kessidis will get a bronze from 2022.
