Brazil was a kind of powerhouse in Karate some years ago. Now we wont have any athletes at the olympics. What a shame

it seems there is still a way for Eleni Chatziliadou to qualify

if both Italy and Egypt qualify here (whcih is very likely) , there will be 2 Wild Cards available in this weight but only 1 athlete in eligible for that (from Montenegro)

rules say

Quote

If the Tripartite Commission is not able to allocate a Tripartite Commission Invitation Place, the quota will be reallocated tothe highest ranked athlete in the applicable category from an NOCnot already representedas per Olympic Standing of 24 May 2021.

Quirici is next , and Eleni is right after her. so one of them will take that reallocated quota. id Quirici qualifies here. there is a very good chance for Greece to have her in Tokyo @Makedonas

:ITA:EGY:SUI are qualified even before the last round

that also means we will have the full list of continental quotas for women's events

Oceania: :NZL Anacan (Kata - Rank 9)

Africa: :EGY Sayed (55kg - Rank 11)

America: :PER Grande (61kg - Rank 9)

Asia: :IRI Alipour (61kg - Rank 6)

Europe: :AUT Plank (55kg - Rank 14)

Pan-Am last quota: :DOM Dimitrova (Kata - Rank 11)

2 wild cards will be avaible in +61kg but only :MNE is eligible for that.

that means even if MNE takes that Wild Card, :GRE will take the unused TC quota.

I will double check everything later today. but that's my understandings from the rules. of course I might be wrong completely.

what a comeback for KSA. and what a chance being wasted by Canada

so :GEO and :KSA are qualified

the last match between :NED and :CAN is do or die for both of them. a draw will be enough for :NED

    • Interesting, for only 2 months i think i have seen some kind of coin from all of the big countries - Germany, Italy, Spain, Holland, France, Portugal, Belgium, Finland, Ireland and yes the 2 euro from Croatia. But some of them were the smaller ones, 10, 5, 2 cents.    Expectedly there aren't any from the smaller countries so far. Nothing from the Baltics, Cyprus, Slovenia, Malta, Andorra etc. But also a bit surprising i haven't seen any from Greece yet.    Don't know from what part of Italy are you, but it's safe to say that when summer hits there will be a lot of Bulgarians visiting Rome, so i'm sure they'll bring some of our coins to spread around.
    • I choose to collect only coins in circulation (and I have also found coins in circulation that should not be on the market; you can find a bit of everything). From my experience, it takes 4-5 years for coins to reach southern Italy, so I have no idea how it will work in Bulgaria. Incidentally, I am curious to see when I will see my first Bulgarian coin. I have not yet seen a Croatian coin (introduced in 2023!).
    • Yes, i saw that there are a lot of commemorative coins. But to get some of those, i would need to buy them, as i don't know how much of them are in circulation. And the chances of such making it to Bulgaria are rather slim.    Still, if i find some sports ones on a good price, maybe i will order a few.

    • Have you already started looking for the hundreds of commemorative 2 euro coins? There are loads of them, including sports-themed ones.
    • Don't know if someone else is collecting Euro coins, but since we joined the zone it's been fun looking at what you can get.    It took only 2 months, but today i finally got my first Slovakian coin.  @hckošice
