Judo IJF World Championships 2021

Is there really no site that calculates the world ranking daily? I mean, I don't want to wait for a whole week to get the official final rankings, and I am still not sure if I understand correctly how IJF calculates the ranking, so I don't want to waste my time adding all the scores for nothing.

Fuck it, I tried to calculate the men's 60kg anyway. If I am right, :BUL went inside the green zone, and :CZE has fallen out of "Top18", the rest is the same.

Unless I have miscalculated something, there are no changes in women's 52kg and men's 66kg after the WCh in terms of the world quotas.

Women's 52kg

:FRA  :ITA  :KOS  :ESP  :BEL  :ISR  :GBR  :RUS  :UZB  :BRA  :SUI  :MGL  :POR  :HUN  :USA  :KOR  :ROU  :POL

Men's 66kg

:ITA  :KOR  :GEO  :MGL  :ISR  :ESP  :UZB  :RUS  :BRA  :KAZ  :MDA  :AZE  :EGY  :UKR  :FRA  :SLO  :BLR  :GER

Tomorrow Christa Deguchi and Jessica Klimkait will compete in the 57 kg event. The higher ranked of the two will go to Tokyo. Klimkait has the "easier draw" imo. I hope Deguchi goes, she has shown she can win medals on the big stage.

Yes she is up for the 2nd round , but it’s a tough one vs the ranked 4th Gjakova

Yeah, I noticed the draw. No luck there with Gjakova but no easy outs. Monteiro, Liperteriani & Klimkait into R3.

    • There is a transgender volleyball player here in Brazil; there was even a recent controversy (this year) when a city banned her from playing in a certain competition, which ended up in court, ultimately in her favor.   But the situation is much simpler than that; the reason for this decision is because of the two female boxers who won at Paris 2024 (who apparently are not transgender).

    • there were rumors about it for quite a while, but as I wrote, it was never confirmed so, it might well be just some haters throwing out some shit on her 🤷
    • Where did you get that?   I'm not sure I would have considered her to have dissapeared from out of nowhere, at least since after Tokyo... she did win medals at the next two World Championships. I think it's just recently, she's been struggling with injury which is why she's completely out of form...
    • Even though I'm not the biggest fan of her, always sucks to see a career ending through injury and not on your own terms
    • This is going to have an effect on very likely 0 athletes, possibly 1 or 2 we don't really know about yet. It's really mostly the cheapest possible way for them to make a sort of political statement, without having any significant backlash since it won't really affect anyone at the top level of international sports.   Edit: worded a bit wrong, I was thrown off by everywhere 'trans women' being mentioned as the target of this. Of course there is also the somewhat larger category of DSD and the likes, which will certainly affect a few athletes - unfortunately they are often thrown under the bus or mentioned as 'not really women anyway' or something like that, despite, you know, being.

    • People focus on trans people because it's easier to pinpoint the affected athletes. Meanwhile it's the athletes with (suspected) DSDs that will have tougher time to convince the authorities and the public opinion that they belong to women's sports.
