Unfortunately the brazilian championships don't count for olympic qualification but only for pan am and WCh (?). Apparently it's some bureaucratic reason from brazilian confederation.

It's a pity because several brazilian and argentinian swimmers made OQT so far  during this competition.

In theory if they count for World Championship they should count for Olympic Games. However on Fina website they are not listed as counted towards WCh, so I don’t know if that was a kind of restricted list

At the argentine nationals this week only 1 qualification.

:ARG Delfina Pignatiello, W 1500m Free, 16:13:xx

She could have qualified as well in the 800 with her time of the brazilian championship of last week (sadly the competition didn't count for OQT) but opted not to compete in the event this week.

Also some of our other swimmers that could qualify didn't participate (it seems no one takes our nationals seriously anymore lol).

    • If Colturi were to return to Italy, we will have another super duo after Goggia and Brignone. If Colturi has to return, it would be right now, when alpine skiing is so popular here. There are still girls like Pirovano, who are quite young and are already started winning. Alpine skiing in Italy is similar to ski jumping in Poland: there are speak about no young talents, but there is always someone new – it is a matter of the popularity of these sports in these countries and the large amounts of money invested in them.

    • Holdener beat Aicher for 2nd place by 0.04 so Aicher has to win the last GS to have any chance for the overall (trails Shiffrin by 85 pts).
    • Shiffrin wins by 1.32 secs! Business as usual
    • Anna Trocker takes the lead despite a big mistake. Maybe there is some future for  alping skiing
    • Lucas seems to be on another level in Giant Slalom right now.
