szy123 79 Posted May 22, 2019 #38 Share Posted May 22, 2019 (edited) Boxing is in, qualies next year, but organised by IOC's special comission with FIS's Morinari Watanabe as a head of project. AIBA is suspended. And this is the best decision they could make I think. Dumping boxing one year before OG would not be fair for athletes, but neither letting AIBA organise it. Dragon 1,844 Posted May 22, 2019 #40 Share Posted May 22, 2019 What we know. Boxing will take place in Tokyo 2020. AIBA will not run the tournament or the qualifiers. The qualifying will run between next January and may. There will be 8 weight categories for men, 5 for women. What we don't know. Who will run the tournament or the qualifiers. What are the weight categories. What and where will be the qualifying events. Whether professional boxers will compete. Where the referees and judges will come from.
