It's been a slow start to the winter for many West Coast North American ski resorts, but you'll see plenty of snow on the broadcast today. I'm still sizing up the prospect of digging my way out and heading to the venue -

Great to see the Poles coming out again for their Wisla round. The atmosphere is on hand as usual. With all due respect to Norway, Finland and Sweden who have invented these sports, but in the last couple of years it's painful to watch the starts in Scandinavia with 30 people in the stands.. It is always a shock how barely anybody goes out to watch a WC round in a historical sport for that nation. Same goes for the cross-country, Nordic combined races we had. Only biathlon managed to pull a nice crowd in Ostersund. -
Even if there are still a few matches postponed to be played, it's incredible how tight Extraklasa is this season! Only 11 points are separating surprising leaders Gornik Zabrze to equally surprising 16th and 1st relegation spot Legia Warszawa! And not forgetting Poland has 4 teams playing in European groups: Jagiellonia, Rakow, Lech and Legia, so there are not weak teams. -
It was only a matter of time: today Jilek secured his first victory in the World Cup. -

And the Americans take 3 gold medals in the GP Finals, with Japan taking the fourth. The Japanese ladies just took a couple of stumbles, allowing Alysa Liu to snag gold for the ladies. Japan ends up on top for the season overall. Check out Post 2 for complete medal tables from the season...see you all in Milano!
