really? only those 5 girls entering this weight class? :yikes:

if that's true, a draw avoiding FRA and NED before the final would be almost a guaranteed spot for Italy (or any other fighter)...

he already did it 4 years ago against Botta...

but this time we have different material, we have a world champion...I don't think he can be beaten by any of the guys participating to this tournament (provided he's in good shape and judging is fair)...

There are few guys who can beat him

Norway, Cook, Portugal

he is the favorite, but would not feel that safe

Guys, do you know there is no "draw" in taekwondo ? you can already predict the brackets (if the start list is complete), the whole thing is based on the world ranking.

Yes I know that

I checked only the two top seeds, the rest would be too much work :)

Too bad that Kimia doesn’t compete for Germany (yet). Maybe in 2024 ...

Imagine an Iranian fighter fleeing Iran and deciding to compete for Israel ...

Would be kind of a brilliant plan for Israel. Get someone from Iran to fight for you in each weight category in Wrestling/Taekwondo -> prevent Iran from winning medals and win more medals yourself

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

As I remember there is no draw for 1-8 positions but players from 9 to 16 are drawn randomly . Correct me if I am wrong

    • This is going to have an effect on very likely 0 athletes, possibly 1 or 2 we don't really know about yet. It's really mostly the cheapest possible way for them to make a sort of political statement, without having any significant backlash since it won't really affect anyone at the top level of international sports.   Edit: worded a bit wrong, I was thrown off by everywhere 'trans women' being mentioned as the target of this. Of course there is also the somewhat larger category of DSD and the likes, which will certainly affect a few athletes - unfortunately they are often thrown under the bus or mentioned as 'not really women anyway' or something like that, despite, you know, being.
    • Mary Rand has died aged 86. The first British woman to win a Gold in track and field at the 1964 Tokyo Games (where she also took home a further two medals in the Women’s 4x100m relay and Pentathlon).
    • Athing Mu competed in the USA trials in 2024 and 2025 post the 2023 rule changes. She also won Gold in 2022 and Bronze in 2023.    Jelimo the jury is out. She doesn’t look male like the other two do.
    • People focus on trans people because it's easier to pinpoint the affected athletes. Meanwhile it's the athletes with (suspected) DSDs that will have tougher time to convince the authorities and the public opinion that they belong to women's sports.
    • badminton queen Carolina Marin announced that she can't take part into the home Europeans in the upcoming weeks because of her injured knee and calls it a career 😭
    • yes, there are (or there was, at least) don't forget that the women's 800m had world and olympic champions like Semenya, Jelimo and Nyonsaba...basically, it was 10 years of DSD winners only the same Athing Mu was suspected to be DSD (never confirmed, but somehow she totally disappeared after Tokyo) then, there were the 2 girls from Namibia (1 won a medal over 200m in Tokyo) in Italy we have the living scandal Valentina Petrillo (a paralympian!!!), who's actually a real man not to mention the weightlifter from who took part into the Tokyo Games so, it's a real problem all around the globe, not just a US crusade against a few woke idiots
