Rule 5.1:

"If an NF finds it impossible for its Athlete/Horse combinations to reach the Minimum Eligibility Requirements as above, the FEI will upon request of the NF, send a Foreign Assessing Delegate at the expense of the NF to assess the level of performance, at a FEI approved Competition conducted in accordance with the protocol established in FEI Jumping Rules, effective as of 1 January 2019, Annex VIII, paragraph 8. This Competition will consist of one round with the dimensions as laid down on a course plan provided by the FEI. Athletes/Horse combinations scoring eight (8) penalties or less in this round will be considered to be eligible. The FEI Foreign Delegate will advise the NF and the FEI on the granting of eligibility (Minimum Eligibility Requirements). If an Athlete/Horse combination has more than eight (8) penalties but shows a very good performance otherwise over the course, the Foreign Assessing Delegate may let the combination repeat a similar course. But in no case may an Athlete/Horse combination become eligible if they scored more than eight (8) penalties in the second round. The NFs of the eligible Athlete/Horse combinations will be informed by the FEI immediately."

I like how it says: "If an NF finds it impossible...". :p

I guess it really was impossible for the billion people of China. They were the first nation who used this rule (already back in June).

I can confirm now that the Thai rider failed to score any new points in Al Ain. This means that :SRI Mathilda Karlsson has qualified. So exciting. :cheer:

In case you are wondering what's the connection between a name like Mathilda Karlsson and Sri Lanka - you can check it here.

Now we just need to wait and see what happens with :QAT:UKR, and whether :TUR Karaevli can overtake Poland in the last moment.

Even if Qatar and Ukraine want to meet MER through 5.1, should they do that before 31 Dec or next year would also be fine?

So if Norway won't do it, who qualifies?

There is nobody left in Group A, so it would go to the next best overall - :ITA Italy. Next in line are :SVK Slovakia and :EST Estonia.

Seems like these 14 points that Miloserdova has on Bugan could prove to be very unfortunate for Slovakia... :(

In jumping the MER is until the 1st of June (at least according to the document I have, maybe they've changed something).

For individuals, yes.

But for teams the deadline to get the NOC Certificate of Capability is December 31st. NOC Certificate of Capability means having at least three riders with MER.
