Bravo Martina, Congrats and enjoy the Olympics. :cheer:

3rd :SVK badminton appearance at the Olympics. Funny enough all 3 were females. Eva Sládeková in Beijing 2008, Monika Fašungocá in London 2012 and now Repiská.

Only 1 quota for Ukraine ?

You have good chance for a second quota. Maria is R2 at present. Carolina Marin is almost surely out. And IIRC, there were some posts here about some other players also not being nominated by their NOC. So, one more withdrawal and she is in.

After :ESP Carolina Marin being injured, next eligible athlete for quota should be from Europe? According to the ranking, I think the reallocation should go to :UKR Maria Ulitina. Am I right?

If some other countries withdraw, as Marin injured, next qualified is surely :UKR Ulitina ..... Next Eligible if someone withdraws are according to ranking :ESP Clara Azurmendi, :GUA Nikte Alejandra Sotomayor, :EGY Doha Hany, :POL Wiktoria Dabczynska, :CZE Kateřina Tomalová.

Nope. There is no need for the next athlete to be from Europe. :MEX as R1 would take Marin’s place. Next in line are :UKR:MRI:GUA:EGY and :IRI

Yup, my mistake. Before typing my reply I checked to see if next Spaniard was in line to replace Marin. But somehow missed her while checking reserves.

    • Interesting, for only 2 months i think i have seen some kind of coin from all of the big countries - Germany, Italy, Spain, Holland, France, Portugal, Belgium, Finland, Ireland and yes the 2 euro from Croatia. But some of them were the smaller ones, 10, 5, 2 cents.    Expectedly there aren't any from the smaller countries so far. Nothing from the Baltics, Cyprus, Slovenia, Malta, Andorra etc. But also a bit surprising i haven't seen any from Greece yet.    Don't know from what part of Italy are you, but it's safe to say that when summer hits there will be a lot of Bulgarians visiting Rome, so i'm sure they'll bring some of our coins to spread around.
    • I choose to collect only coins in circulation (and I have also found coins in circulation that should not be on the market; you can find a bit of everything). From my experience, it takes 4-5 years for coins to reach southern Italy, so I have no idea how it will work in Bulgaria. Incidentally, I am curious to see when I will see my first Bulgarian coin. I have not yet seen a Croatian coin (introduced in 2023!).
    • Yes, i saw that there are a lot of commemorative coins. But to get some of those, i would need to buy them, as i don't know how much of them are in circulation. And the chances of such making it to Bulgaria are rather slim.    Still, if i find some sports ones on a good price, maybe i will order a few.

    • Have you already started looking for the hundreds of commemorative 2 euro coins? There are loads of them, including sports-themed ones.
    • Don't know if someone else is collecting Euro coins, but since we joined the zone it's been fun looking at what you can get.    It took only 2 months, but today i finally got my first Slovakian coin.  @hckošice
