Basically every swimmer with any relevance is on an ISL roster unless they are wanting to maintain NCAA eligibility. The ISL actually pays people money.

No one from China is on any roster

Well I hope this can inspire Gkolomeev to win his first Olympic medal in 2024 as a 31 year old! He said after getting 5th yesterday in the same event where Fratus got bronze, that his goal is now 2024.

Too bad it won't inspire Thom de Boer for a 30+ medal, since he already said before the Olympics he'll retire after it, since he can no longer combine his regular job with his part-time swimming :p

This is for cycling die-hards. Everything will be decided in the last kilometer (or 200m) anyway? :p

Yeah but it's a direct medal event, unlike for example days 1-3 in golf or early qualifications or something. So, alarm and time to get up

    • Regarding the swimming they have added the 800m for men and the 1500m for women so cutting numbers would be odd.
    • That quota I’ve been told by an athlete aiming to qualify who I know online.
    • Has the quota for Canada been offically confirmed anyway, or is that just a rumour? I can't find anything on google about it (nor the suggested quota for England's athletes someone posted earlier).   12 per gender would make sense (it's roughly what Canada sent to Birmingham). 12 overall seems dumb.
    • Some sports have qualification systems   3x3 basketball (wheelchair) Para-cycling Powerlifting Weightlifting
    • In the past few games, Canada (and other nations) was given an overall athlete quota which they then divided it through the various sports.
    • Whose decision was this, Team Canada's or the Organising committes?
