:SWE is the first team to qualify for the playoffs and, as such, the Olympics.

4 in the final end against Canada is a good way to do it.  That was some impressive comeback by them to win

I think this tournament shows that curling, like all other team sports at the Olympics, deserves 12 teams per event.

Wouldn't work if they wanted to keep the full round robin.  Too many matches to squeeze onto the schedule, especially since they added the mixed doubles.  Right now, it's 12 draws each for men and women to get all the matches in.  They'd need 17 draws apiece for 12 teams.  Has to stay at 10

It could work if they did a day -3 and/or 4 draws in a day

The :NOR - :CAN match tonight is extremely important. The loser will drop to a fifth loss. The match is especially pivotal for Canada - if Canada loses the match they no longer control their destiny, as :SUI has the head to head tie-break over Canada. The winner of the match is guaranteed to qualify if they win their final match tomorrow.

:ITA and :JPN are still mathematically in the race, if my quick calculation is correct they need to win all their remaining games, Switzerland to lose at least one game and the loser of Norway - Canada to lose their final game. And that just gets them to the mess that is the tie-break.

Also, :SWE and not Russia advanced to the semi-finals. As @mrv86 mentioned :USA  qualified to the playoffs and the Olympics.

Scenarios for qualification:

:GBR qualifies with a :SCO win over :NOR.

:NOR qualifies with a win over :SCO.

:SUI qualifies with a win over :CHN  and a :SCO win over :NOR.

The Canada - Germany match does not affect qualification.

    • Apparently this season will be last one in Kamil Stoch career if his results wont be enough good for his standards.
    • Such a nice one for Colturi ! That was fun. It almost looked like a script with the cameras focusing on Colturi a couple of times before her first run and showcasing the potential of youngster and she didn't disappoint.      I hope Colturi skis for Albania forever. So much fun to cheer her with the Albanian flag.    I don't get it why everyone is being so critical of Colturi, you got no right to criticize a personal decision, as most European nations use imported athletes in many sports like wrestling and cheer them on like their.   Would you spend hours criticizing Frank Chamizo for switching to Italy rather than playing for Cuba?

    • It may also be that Ceccerelli saw that the conditions in the Italian youth teams were very poor and that is why she insisted on setting up her own team (the results of young Italian skiers unfortunately confirm this). A private team will always be better than a team with 10-12 skiers with max. 3-4 coaches, a one doctor and a physiotherapist. Colturi is the only skier in her team and she has several coaches, a masseur, a doctor etc. Of course, it costs money, but since the parents are famous and have money + Red Bull got involved. I don't understand why she can't start for Italy again? Red Bull should care more that Colturi starts in Cortina under the Italian flag than the Albanian one + Red Bull, as a brand, always has a bigger sales market in Italy with a population of 60 million than in small Albania. I hope that this can still be reversed by next year. For this we need talks between the federation + Colturi's parents + Red Bull + possibly the Italian Olympic Committee. Colturi may be a skier equal to Brignone or even better in the future. We can't lose her, so we have to do now!
    • I`m very disappointed with this weekend. Only becouse of Ghiotto form I`m happy. Unfortunately, the women's team will not function well if Lollobrigida skips most of the training camps and Fontana starts alternately in short tack and long track. It will end with her not winning any medals here or there, because it`s already clear that it will be very difficult to achieve good results in long track. I hope that she understands this, because in short track she has a real chance of winning medals in the women's relay and the mixed relay but in long track not.
    • Tragic performance of the Italian women's team - last place and probably something bad happened at the start. There are so few starts in the team that it will be a problem to even qualify for the World Championships - 8 best teams. After Lollobrigida's return and Fontana's addition, I was counting on much more, but it seems that there are too few joint trainings. With individual quality, we have no right to lose to the Czechs without Sablikova, or anonymous Korea. And unfortunately this start will count for a lot, because there are only 2 more and our chances of playing at the World Championships are minimal. In my opinion with Fontana going from Short Track to Long Trackand vice versa, we won't be much use in the team. Here great teamwork is needed, not improvisation. As of today, there is very little chance that we will qualify the women's team for the games.
    • men advanced to Division A for the first time since 2018 (when they went 1-8). Don't expect much progress next year
    • Ok, but there we are talking about a person who has parents from different countries. Colturi has nothing to do with Albania.
    • There are few people here from Austria, Switzerland, Norway and Finland.
