Good start by the Indian Juniors in the championships. Hope we land with few quota would be cherry in the cake....

I am very excited by the success of shooting programs ........ we have been shooting close to china in a couple of world cups and at the asian games recently ............Our commonwealth performance was awesome ............ The world championship would tell us exactly where we stand as a team - are finally reaching a level as a team where we claim true place amongst the top nations in this sport

Analysis - 2014 World Champ medal count  -

( BAND 1 ) -------- China 44, Russia 40

( BAND 2 ) -------- Germany 25, Italy 25, US 17, SK -14

India - 2

Analysis - 2010 - World Champ medal count  -

( BAND 1 ) -------- China 52, Russia 46

( BAND 2 ) -------- Germany 21, Italy 15, US 24, SK -17

India - 3

If we need to be a band 2 nation at least we need to get between 15-20 medals ......the current team can do this  I feel ( Am I optimistic - I am basing this on the junior world cups or asiads) or at least reach towards 6-10 medals  ........ the start has been good

In 2 of the 3 events good results for Germany:

If Robin Walter wouldnt have completely messed up his last series in mens junior 50 m pistol, he would have probably won silver. Seems like Germany finally has a great talent in this event. In mixed air pistol i had no expectations, so a 5th place is pretty good. Mixed air rifle was a bit disappointing, but i am sure that Reitz/Reitz will qualify later on.

Also great to see that Germany finally has a great talent in women's trap who is in 2nd place after the first day of qualification.

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

Shooting mixed events are probably the saddest example of mixed events forced into the Olympic program.

Absolutely ridiculous, especially the part about nations being allowed to enter two mixed teams... But who cares, as long as big nations can still earn 2 medals per event at the Olympics.:rofl:

    • more countries added to the list of US ban    you can't travel to USA if you are from : burkina faso , niger , Laos , South sudan , mali , sierra leon ...
    • Yes, but what I mean for Serbia is that everything changed there (unfortunately for us ). 2022 was an unbelievable mess, that's not the case anymore now with just one athlete who has really gone for it and made it, so I'm 99% sure they'll accept it this time.   Who knows though. Plus there's always 1-2 bigger countries here or there who reject something, but it's not gonna be 16 places I'm afraid
    • Doping by Event Type When we look at which events have the most doping cases, a few categories stand out from recent sanction records: Long Distance (3,000m and above): 32% of cases Sprints (400m or less): 24% of cases Jumps: 12% of cases Javelin: 8% of cases Middle Distance (800m–1,500m): 8% of cases Hammer: 8% of cases Steeplechase (3,000m SC): 4% of cases
    • From 2020 to 2025    These three countries alone make up almost two-thirds (61.9%) of all current doping violations in athletics worldwide. It’s worth noting that 199 of World Athletics’ 214 member federations have no athletes on the current ban list. This means the problem is really concentrated in a small number of places. Here’s a look at the top countries: Rank Country Total Violations Percentage Region 1 Kenya 119 24.74% Africa 2 India 108 22.45% Asia 3 Russia 73 15.18% Europe 4 China 26 5.40% Asia 5 Turkey 20 4.16% Europe 6 Italy 18 3.74% Europe 7 South Africa 18 3.74% Africa 8 Ukraine 17 3.53% Europe 9 United States 16 3.33% North America 10 Morocco 15 3.12% Africa
