vinipereira 3,250 Posted April 29, 2018 Author #2991 Share Posted April 29, 2018 BTW, I didn't have much time to prepare many things (as I slept today until 12h00), so the closing of this contest will be rather quick compared to the other events. mrv86

vinipereira 3,250 Posted April 29, 2018 Author #2994 Share Posted April 29, 2018 Good evening, ladies and gentlemen! April 28th 2018. This day that will go to the TISC history books as we've celebrated the 10th overall edition of our contests. A total of 41 nations participated in our landmark Grand Final, and Brazil was honoured of hosting such a special occasion. But now it's time to say goodbye to the Totallympics Annual International Song Contest 2018, the first of South America. After a weekend of festivities, such as the jubilee Gala Event and the Final itself, we'll start now the last stage of this long journey: the Closing Ceremony. Have a great evening! vinipereira 3,250 Posted April 29, 2018 Author #2995 Share Posted April 29, 2018 The team challenge was a new and exciting idea for TISC this year. Divided in a total of 10 teams (named after the brazilian territories in which our delegations stayed), they competed in a fun game that involved power-play points in order to "steal" the host nation bonus at the end. Team São Luís managed to get the most power-play points - thus getting a 50 points bonus at the end with Brazil joining their team. Thanks to this, they've climbed to end in the third position. However, it wasn't enough to overcome the total of points of Team Foz do Iguaçu (silver) and Team Brasília (gold) - which didn't even have the need of PP points to be ahead of its closest competitors. The success of Team Brasília is due to its nations, that not only included the eventual winners Italy (with 188 points), but also very strong songs from Algeria (87), Germany (148) and New Zealand (72). We congratulate the winners, and now remind the full results of the Team Challenge: TEAM BRASÍLIA 495 21 516 TEAM FOZ DO IGUAÇU 420 20 440 TEAM SÃO LUÍS 294 32 (+50) 376 TEAM MANAUS 330 17 347 TEAM OURO PRETO 307 0 307 TEAM GRAMADO 280 12 292 TEAM FERNANDO DE N. 267 8 275 TEAM CUIABÁ 261 9 270 TEAM NATAL 211 18 229 TEAM SALVADOR 203 22 225 dcro
vinipereira 3,250 Posted April 29, 2018 Author #2996 Share Posted April 29, 2018 An exciting part about TISC is finding out how many medals your country won, meaning: how many juries voted for your song in the coveted top 3 positions. The results this year are interesting as the contest winner didn't place among the top 10 here - even though was clearly beloved as it won 8 medals. As for other nations in the official top 5, they all show up here in the same exact order of the Final Ranking: Norway, United States, Germany and Brazil. Without further ado, here is the Medal Table of this year's annual contest: FINAL JURY MEDAL TABLE 1 NORWAY 3 4 1 8 2 UNITED STATES 3 3 3 9 3 GERMANY 3 0 3 6 4 BRAZIL 3 0 1 4 5 NEW ZEALAND 2 2 0 4 6 IRELAND 2 1 2 5 7 SLOVAKIA 2 1 1 4 7 SWITZERLAND 2 1 1 4 9 GREECE 2 1 0 3 9 TUNISIA 2 1 0 3 11 RUSSIA 2 0 2 4 12 MOLDOVA 2 0 1 3 13 ITALY 1 4 3 8 14 PORTUGAL 1 4 0 5 15 FINLAND 1 2 3 6 16 ROMANIA 1 2 0 3 17 CROATIA 1 1 2 4 18 GREAT BRITAIN 1 1 1 3 19 DENMARK 1 1 0 2 20 NETHERLANDS 1 0 3 4 21 KAZAKHSTAN 1 0 1 2 22 ALGERIA 1 0 0 1 22 LITHUANIA 1 0 0 1 22 MALTA 1 0 0 1 22 SERBIA 1 0 0 1 26 FRANCE 0 3 3 6 27 POLAND 0 3 0 3 28 INDIA 0 2 1 3 29 SWEDEN 0 1 2 3 30 AUSTRIA 0 1 1 2 31 ESTONIA 0 1 0 1 31 MEXICO 0 1 0 1 33 ARGENTINA 0 0 3 3 34 BULGARIA 0 0 1 1 34 INDONESIA 0 0 1 1 34 IRAN 0 0 1 1 Gianlu33, Bohemia, rybak and 2 others

vinipereira 3,250 Posted April 29, 2018 Author #2999 Share Posted April 29, 2018 Before the unveil of the Final Ranking, now let's celebrate the nations that broke/matched their own records regarding the results and points. The list include Norway, which broke their PB by more than 80 points; Russia, that after participating in six editions managed to break their points record by almost 40 points; and the United States - which matched their best ranking ever with the 3rd position. Even tough it didn't broke the PB regarding points (206 from the Open 2013), this was the first victory for Italy. Please notice that the Records didn't consider new nations as this was their first result in the TISC history, but we congratulate Austria and Venezuela for the participation and hope they return.
