Also means that Wawrinka and Bencic are not playing !!!! Though, mixed doubles decisions can always change at the last minute...

And Nadal/Lopez are playing while Nadal/Muruguzza is also a strong possibility...

Not sure if that's gonna happen. Had Rafa been playing injury free right now, it was a strong possibility (by his own admission)

He plans to start practising only in July and then appear only in just a single tournament - Rogers cup, before Rio. Thus seems difficult to me. One of MD / XD could go. XD most likely IMO

This is so unfair. There should be some criteria for playing doubles and mixed doubles tennis at Olympics. Singles players will easily dominate the regular doubles players.

Criteria like considering only doubles rank to play in doubles. Why should singles rank be considered

Ya agreeing with u smit.... doubles specialists play yearlong doubles, wins grandslams but in Oly singles stars enter and it's all done

I am completly agree with all of you. In Olympics tennis should fallow badminton, in badminton double entry is totaly separated from singles. however problem is that in double events of every international tournament of badminton, each pair contains the Player of same nationality. And they are using raking for pairs So it is easier for them to make a seprate entry for singles and doubles. Even Mixed doubles is separated from men and women doubles. However in tennis 90% of the pairs taking part in grand slams and other regular ranking events, contains player with different nationality. If we create separate entry system like badminton than many countries who have only a one good double players will face problem of choosing a suitable partner. Maximum nations will oppose this change in entry system.

Guys...this is sport. It is the Olympics. As the Star Sports ad says "Isse bada kuch nahin" (Translation: Nothing is bigger than this).

If you wanna win gold, you should be the best in the world. Not win gold by preventing the entry itself of the best players in the world.

If the argument is that the singles players will dominate the doubles playes in doubles too, well then the doubles players dont deserve the medals.
