Your own Winter Olympic Games Programme

Recommended Posts

Opinions differ and ever so often do they when it comes to the Olympic programme. What do your perfect Olympic Games programme look like? What sports and events do they include, how many events in total are there and over how many days would you spread the whole programme?

No matter if you make a realistic programme or a dream programme, it's all about your own ideas here. You can use the template below and add or get rid of as many sports and events as you like. You can also create new events. To make it easier, you will find the current programme in the template. It refers to the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang.

I am okay with the actual program, if I had to remove something..maybe the figure skating team event, and I´ll add more quotas for Ice Hockey to increase the number of participating teams m and w, maybe I´ll add also the skills challenge contest like in the Youth Olympics, to open the doors also for "smallest" hockey countries to win medals

What is cyclo cross?

And I forgot to put monobob/cross country cross in mine, so my total would be 146 in 18 sports.

But @heywoodu ski ballet, but no halfpipe or slopestyle? Wtf? lol

Yeah, ski ballet looked awesome on the old videos :d

And I have nothing against halfpipe or slopestyle, but I like it as an X-Games event, like all events where the athletes seem more concerned with just having fun than actually fighting for the win. And as for big air: especially in the women's competitions....basically nothing happens (in my eyes), except for maybe one athlete who does more than a turn or two.

I like the monobobs, but personally I'd keep that for the Winter Paralympics, and apart from Paralympic sport, keep it as sort of a 'development thing' for youth.

Oh and cyclo-cross is cycling (duh) in the field (hence 'veldrijden' = 'field cycling') in Dutch. Sort of a mix between mountainbike and road cycling, which is especially fantastic when the weather is or has been utterly awful and the course turns into one hell of mud
