Yesterday, Imran Khan, ex-PM of Pakistan was arrested. Since then, his supporters have indulged in arson and rioting in quite a few places. They even stormed GHQ in Rawalpindi. Expecting Army reprisal to be brutal. Biggest questions are will Asim Munir impose martial law and take direct control or allow Shehbaz Sharif to continue as PM and will Imran survive this (not only politically but literally as well)?

There is a very small possibility that Imran does have enough support both nationally and in overseas Pakistani community to force Army to negotiation table.

Interestingly, in this power play, the ruling government has no role.

There was hardly any security in cantonments and generals' homes which might suggest Army wanted and expected people to arson and riot. This might give an excuse to impose Emergency and bring martial law. Also just few days back COAS Asim Munir was in China, perhaps he has the blessings of China

So Erdogan is winning again, shocking, not :d Any hope of getting rid of him looks like to be over. I thought the Turkish people have had enough of him, but they can take more.

Rural votes are counted first as in most elections. Based on how early votes are coming in, the opposition is in a good position to win and maybe even pass 50%. But obviously it will only be official if the election results in the cities will go as expected.

He is winning according to the pro-Erdogan Anadolu, which is basically only counting the results in which he did win and ignoring the (many) results in which he didn't. In terms of actually counted and published results so far, these are the standings:

36.8% counted
RTE: 46.58%
KK: 47.65%

On the other side of the world, :THA also had an election.

The anti-military and pro-Constitutional reform Move Forward Party is neck-to-neck with Pheu Thai which is led by Thaksin’s daughter.

The military-aligned parties are clearly not doing well, hopefully they don’t launch another coup…

73.5%

RTE: 48.26%
KK: 45.96%

Keeping in mind the 73.5 is the percentage of polling stations, not the percentage of votes. Most votes that still have to come in are from major cities like Ankara, Istanbul and Izmir, where Kemal seems to be winning (almost 70% in Izmir). RTE winning it today seems highly unlikely, KK winning it seems vaguely possible, but unlikely as well, so second round incoming it seems.

News from more and more polling stations (of course those where Kemal did well) saying AKP is delaying the results badly. As in, asking for recounts literally dozens of times in a single station.

Polling workers have been told to guard the ballots carefully, fear is growing of AKP people stealing them.
