In response to that literal question, not out of the blue. He also said this situation seems to be very unlikely and not at all expected (whereas Russia starting a war was far from unexpected considering their long buildup of troops).

 

More of a media thing to make a deal out of this, nothing less and nothing more really.

I wouldn't suspect CNN of click-baiting unless US media is really that garbage these days?

Every American cable news network does clickbait and garbage opinion shows. CNN, Fox News and MSNBC also all have a serious hard news department that employs really good journalists, but you wouldn't know it from scanning their website's homepage or from listening to their network most of the day.
