I just did the same calculation with same answer. Time to watch Hungary vs China now. We may be competitor for the +1 World quota.

Is Egypt ahead of Japan if they have the same number of points, which they will have if Egypt wins that match? I think they are but I am never sure about they break ties on the ranking.

Egypt is looking strong in Men's épéé, I think they can do it. If they win against the US, they will qualify.

Yes, Egypt is ahead in case of tie because they have a better best result (a 1st place in the zonal champs)

They had a 3rd place in the zonal champs. Is that result better (40 points) than a 13th place in the World Champs (42 points)?

i don't understand, ukraine is behind france in the olympic ranking, and it can still qualify?
