It is definitive. I think the time is a calculated one  (that's at least what Danish media got from a UCI press officer)

Maybe they used the last split before the incident?

Team GB saying they not happy at Denmark not being DQ.

Neither were they after the qualification. No surprise there!

British Cycling performance director Stephen Park also confirmed they were one of "several" teams to call for the Danes to be penalised for the use of illegal equipment in Monday's qualifying session.

The world champions wore plasters on their shins in a bid to improve their aerodynamics, while apparently wearing undervests which had not been properly registered in time.

Park said that at a meeting of teams before Tuesday's cycling session, the UCI confirmed the equipment could not be used for the rest of the competition but indicated there would be no retroactive punishment, despite rules saying a team should face elimination in such circumstances.

"There was a fairly heated debate about whether the UCI were or were not going to apply their own rules about [the tape] and about undervests," Park said.

Lol they gave GBR a time of 4:28, the finish time of the third rider. They had a time that would have placed 6th at 3625m, they could have taken that one at least to acknowledge the damage.

Utter BS from UCI who cleared the tape for all 4 riders and then suddenly said they heard it as only one.

The tampering with product details about when it got public. I'm sure they could show some proof. Denmark feels very certain there as well.

Olympics website has now added this ominous disclaimer.

Thomas Bach, Fencing Champion, 1976, will declare that there will be a breakdancing play-off to decide who goes to the final.

Mixed gender urban style?

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

    • Yep, if they can take advantage of those cracks maybe, but it's too big of a maybe in my opinion. Our pitching has relied on Caissie, Toro, and Lopez the entire tournament, and I don't see that being enough to match the US's firepower.   Canadians are used to disappointment, there's almost always things that go wrong, and there actually being a chance to qualify for the...
    • That was realistic though, this isn't.   The women were heavy favourites, we did better than expected. The men were favourites with their roster of course, but they dominated that final just unfortunate to be going up against prime Hellebuyck who was a brick wall and of course there were a few questionable calls that were crucial in the end.
    • It's unlikely, but possible. USA pitching is not that great imo. Canada will probably have to score 6+ runs to have a chance, but it's definitely possible.
