Rowing at the Summer Olympic Games 2020

The Dutch team has been banned from using the facilities at the rowing venue (bathrooms, restaurants and so on). They're also not allowed to use the Olympic transport anymore, so they'll have to find their own cars to rent and such to get to the venue. Bizarre situation.

The last is pretty bizarre. Surely the Olympics themselves should be providing separate transport if the risk of communal transport is a risk.

Looks like no rowing Monday or Tuesday in Tokyo

Monday was already known, that's why today's session was twice as long :p

Tuesday is new (but not really surprising..)

Oh, they're also banned from the warmup areas and such. So basically they're completely screwed over (this also goes for athletes who never tested positive at all), any medal would be a miracle from now on. That sucks, the team was looking stronger than it has done in a very, very, very long time..

Yeah I knew about Monday. I remember this happening in Rio too. It's not uncommon in rowing, happened earlier this year at the European Olympic qualification regatta too.

Also the Dutch rowers have these measures to deal with because of Finn Florijn?

Finn Florijn and the women's head coach. It was a 'friendly request' (which one can read as 'you have to'). By the way, all the boat crews have been living entirely separate from each other already.
