Alejandro Valverde won the Saitama Criterium, beating fellow attackers Geraint Thomas and Yukiya Arashiro. Surely it was purely coincidence that the world champion, Tour de France winner (in his yellow jersey) and main Japanese hero ended up forming the deciding breakaway together :whistle:

Much to the surprise of absolutely nobody, Tom Dumoulin has won his 5th consecutive "Cyclist of the Year" award in the Netherlands, with Anna van der Breggen getting the women's award.
