no comment, we're throwing away at least 2 chances to make the finals if not even 1 safe medal and 1 quite possible...

only because they didn't make the Grazini in, De Nicolo out swap...

and we could even argue about Bacci being chose over our junior champion, who's lately regularly scoring points Bacci has never dreamed of...

In Italy we have 2 different national federation for shotgun (FITAV) and bullseye shooting (UITS) and they don't like each other :p

Actually FITAV has not yet communicated the participants at Olympics

The Hungarian team:

Veronika Major - women's 10m air pistol, women's 25m pistol

Eszter Mészáros - women's 10m air rifle, women's 50m rifle 3 positions, mixed 10m air rifle team

Zalán Pekler - men's 10m air file, men's 50m rifle 3 positions

István Péni - men's 10m air file, men's 50m rifle 3 positions, mixed 10m air rifle team

As it was expected, Péter Sidi is out of the Olympic team.

Did Peni prove himself innocent?

I think? I must say that everything happened very quickly, so there must some really strong evidence supporting Péni's case. Sidi will obviously not let this go and will go to court, but that process will probably take more time. I am not entire sure what happens if somehow Sidi proves after the Games that he didn't do anything. Maybe IOC will take away Péni's results in that case? The potential of that will likely linger during and after Games.

99.9% the team would be:

Jessica Rossi, Silvana Stanco (women's Trap)

Mauro De Filippis (men's Trap)

Chiara Cainero, Diana Bacosi (women's Skeet)

Gabriele Rossetti, Tammaro Cassandro (men's Skeet)

the mixed Trap team obviously has not been decided yet, since it's clear that the De Filippis & Stanco duo is not performing well right now because of Stanco poor condition, but at the moment Jessica Rossi is stuck on her position, not to shoot together with her former husband for any reason (still, the federation is trying to convince her to make her mind up and shoot the Olympic event together with De Filippis)...

:GBR Shooting team

Matthew Coward-Holley (Men's trap)

Aaron Heading (Men's trap)

Kirsty Hegarty (Women's trap)

Amber Hill (Women's skeet)

Seonaid McIntosh (Women's 50m rifle three positions/10m air rifle)

It's a small team but includes two world no. 1s in Hill and McIntosh and the in form Coward-Holley who has risen to the third spot in the rankings.

    • Canoe Sprint There is a now a cap of 5 athletes per gender in the kayak events (down from 6 in 2024). The World Championships has been replaced by the Olympic Qualification Rankings.   K2 lost 2 boat quotas while K4 has gained 1 boat quota. Quota distribution is quite complicated as it usually is for canoe sprint. They also force nations to compete in a minimum number of events based on the number of athletes qualified; 2 and 3 athletes per boat class must compete in 2 events, 4 must compete in all 3 events and 5 must compete in all 3 events and have two entries in the K1 event.
    • Wrestling will have a completely new format, I do not like the changes. ranking isn't really a good idea in this sport, this will force wrestlers to compete in so many events to collect points. which is not good for their health. specially with the current UWW ranking points distribution system which is plain stupid   they are also gifting 18 quotas to very weak countries by that last qualification event. but I understand their point of view. can't wait to see lots of Russian wrestlers compete for weak countries for that 1 available quota.
    • Canoe Slalom Quotas from men's/women's K1 have been moved to men's/women's KX1. K1 will now have 14 quotas while KX1 will have 10 quotas. C1 remains at 17 quotas. Athletes may participate in other events up to a maximum of 2 athletes per NOC.   The World Championship qualifier has been dropped in favour of the Olympic Qualification Rankings (7 K1, 10 C1, 3 KX1), afterwards you have the Continental Qualifiers (1 per boat) and then a new Global Qualifier (2 per boat).   There were a few changes regarding ways to ensure an athlete can only obtain 1 quota. The biggest being at each stage the boat priority is K1 > KX1 > C1 for the rankings and KX1 > K1 > C1 for the continental/global qualifiers. This basically means if the same athlete qualifiers in multiple boats then the quota will be given to the kayak over canoe.
    • I'll post significant changes periodically. I'll start with the recently added/updated documents.   Archery The addition of mixed compound (12M & 12W) forced a reduction on the recurve side. The mixed compound quotas are distributed as follows   Host - 1 World Championships - 3 Continental Games - 5 World Ranking List - 2 Final Qualifier - 1   To compensate the team events will now only have 8 nations. 2 quotas were removed from the World Ranking List and 2 were removed from the Final Qualifier.   Individual recurve and mixed recurve distribution is the same
    • In Rome, it would be useful to roof the swimming pool complex at Foro Italico, possibly with the option of retracting the roof and covering the tennis court complex. Overall, there's a lot to do, for example, compared to Budapest, but unfortunately, this is Italy How many years has Roma been building their new stadium, and they keep pushing back the completion date- now I read it's 2030? and it should be ready. The same goes for Milan- there should be a modern complex of indoor swimming pools with 50 meters pools, etc., but there's a problem with one stupid football stadium, which will only be built after an ultimatum from UEFA
