Some US dude into top 10, Vidovič out of top 15

very good idea to put only 15 in the 2nd round, look some early darwin award candidate here :p

Once again shows that you can’t really take the results in technical disciplines at world champs seriously, especially outside the top 10. The US had one 19th place as the best result of the season and now they have two in the top 15 ...

Germany had a great start, but the last 4 events have been bad, Schmid threw away a 5th medal for Germany. I guess Strasser got back to his normal level, would be interesting to know what he did differently during his amazing run.

Yeah, let's be fair...I mean, a few in the medals, sure, but really no gold has gone to anyone that surprising. Faivre might not have been the favourite, but he's far from some random winner of course.

Yes, not a random winner ...

He is 18th in the giant slalom World Cup and his results this season were 26th, 8th, 20th, 16th, 17th and 15th.

Strasser had so many mistakes today ... The problem in the race today was, that the slope was that much faster at the higher Numbers.

Terrible decision to reverse Top 15 only. Laurie Taylor getting Top 5 with Bib 41 would be ultimate kick in the teeth for FIS. What a joke this is (and yeah, I remember the old days like when Tomba went from 15th to 2nd in Lillehammer OG when reversing Top 15 was still the norm).

    • Yeah. It was pretty bad that they cancel the contract with the original creative director after 7 months of work. I feel like politics, in this particular context of the changing of prime minister and the cabinet, may had caused changes in organizational decisions regarding the Sea Games including the direction of the opening ceremony.
    • That's what I figured.  Wouldn't be a proper lead up to an Olympics without some media-fueled fearmongering.
    • Today : Jordan 3-0 Egypt  This team will surprise us
    • option no.2 for sure, as it's been all this shitstorm organized by the nhl owners through their embedded reporters   ps not that the north american audience looks really aware of the hockey rules and habits outside the nhl (and around their game, too, since they look not to know that just a couple of weeks ago they played 2 nhl matches on an ice sheet of the exact same size of Milan's olympic arena)
    • Are we supposed to take Daly's word for it or is this just public posturing to try and shame the Milan organizers (which they certainly deserve for all the delays) in order to threaten NHL participation?
    • Well that was a disappointing opening ceremony. Not to mention the boss is late too...   Anyway this is another victim of bureaucracy, the initial creative director quit in October and we get this kind of show.   Original plan: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/17EVayTpig/
    • Japan missed their last shot with hammer in the 10th last night against the Philippines for them to stay alive.  USA's remaining 2 games are against Philippines and Netherlands, so they have a tough road ahead, although they've already beaten Japan, so that helps for tiebreaker purposes.
