:BRA Ricardinho (Volleyball), considered one of the best setters of all time, has announced his retirement last week. Among the titles, he was Olympic champion in 2004 (+silver in 2012) and world champion in 2002 and 2006.

:BRA Joanna Maranhão (Swimming) announced her retirement today. Probably our best female pool swimmer, she finished 5th in 400m individual medley in Athens 2004, the best placement obtained by a Brazilian woman swimmer at all times. Having won multiple Pan and South American Games medals (+ participation in 4 Olympic Games), she is also known for her social work, having inspired a law (against child sexual assault) with her name in Brazil.
