Cross-Country Skiing FIS Tour de Ski 2017 - 2018

Recommended Posts

And the schedule (it's only in German, but it's easy, Freistil = freestyle, klassisch = classic, Verfolgung = pursuit, bzw. = first the men's distance, then the women's distance)

Why bother only finishing half the stages? :d

And Olympic qualification. It's feasible that Laukkanen might be a part of the Finnish team sprint relay, so she'll need two more sprints to qualify.

Exactly. Plus there's no biathlon in that time anyway, why not get some more competitive rhythm. Besides, Laukkanen has already proven more than once she's very much capable of being a serious World Cup-level cross-country skier in the sprint.

  • 2 weeks later...

The Tour has started, no surprises in the women's sprint qualifying. The only notable things are Randall not making it (but then again, she's not that great like she was a few years back) and Lampic ending somewhere in the back.

Sundby doesn't make the cut. Slightly surprising, since he's shown more than once that he is very capable of even finishing top-10 in these things, but then again, it's the Olympic season, I doubt the Tour de Ski is where he wants to be in his best shape.

    • Assuming Venezuela loses and gives up 4+ runs, Canada just needs PR to lose and give up 9 or more runs in a 9 inning or less game. I hadn't realized one of their games went to 10 innings before. I think it's possible, but we'll have to wait and see.
