Better to struggle here than Olympics

Exactly my thoughts about Anna Korakaki's recent struggles. Shooting is such an unpredictable sport, often with random results. It's very difficult to win medals consistently so better to struggle at World Cup events than in the Olympics.

finally! after a nightmerish period (quite a long one), Silvana Stanco is back to her best shape...

and Mauro De Filippis in the end won a world cup event...

so, all this means that maybe our mixed trap team might finally work also without Jessica Rossi, who notoriously doesn't want to shoot together with her former husband De Filippis anymore...

it took quite a while, but there's a chance that we paced everything well to be at our best just when it really matters ('cause Rio 2016 will be very difficult to match)...:fingers:

Too bad Chatzitsakiroglou won't be in Tokyo but this is a very good result for him. Only 21 years old so he has a bright future.

I never even heard of him until a few weeks ago when he got 5th at the European Championships, so it seems like he's done really well lately.

CONI said that Rossi-De Filippis and Stanco-Fabbrizi will be italian mixed team friday.

I think Rossi-De Filippis will be italian mixed team in Tokyo

how to waste a big medal chance...

with those 2 paired, if something could go wrong, surely it will go worse...

I hope to be wrong, but I don't think it's a savior idea to put their personal problems into the Olympic squad by forcing them to make a team...

Perhaps we should follow their example?
    • Well... If not qualifying for the World Cup for the third consecutive time isn't enough to bring about change in Italy, I can't imagine what will be.
    • Gravina is simply stupid and probably has some kind of hold over other important key figures in Italian football, since he was elected in 2024 with a majority of over 90% of the votes... I have a hard time imagining it any other way. Compared to him, even Carraro, Berlusconi and Moggi seem like nice and kind gentlemens   Some people believe that Calciopoli in 2006 began the decline of Italian football and that may be true. It only got worse from there, not counting a single accidental Euro 2021 win- something similar to Greece in 2004. In 2009 Roberto Baggio prepared a 900-page report on necessary reforms in Italian football, but the then-FIGC board tossed it into the trash bin. Now we see the consequences...
    • I thought our former football President was greedy, selfish, power hungry and delusional, but apparently he has an equal counterpart in Gravina. Some people just lack common decency.
    • Well, it's possible that Italians may be more bitter towards short track officials after the robbery they perpetrated against Sighel at the Olympics and therefore more willing to comment and criticize them, but it doesn't make the decision any less ridiculous.   Also, the fact we are Italians, and therefore used to the low standards of football refereeing, makes us especially qualified and trained to identify biased/crooked/incompetent judging
    • I think it was never in the history of our sport has there been anyone as brazen and stupid as Gravina. Before presidents would resign, or at least hide for a while, rather than go into a full-blow scandalous attitude with full larrogance and pride. I hope this idiot gets fired anyway, even if he doesn't resign.
