My initial reaction that this was a "fluke" semi-final and they won't be able to repeat it on the same night, but maybe I am wrong. I hope I am because it would be a bit anticlimactic if the fastest time won't be in the final.

First of all this isn't true for women and even for men it probably isn't, just because one asian guy had one fast time. Lemaitre and Tortu for example also have been sub 10.
